This was literally a screwing around shot. We were just leaving the North Window Arch after sunset, and the sunlight was completely gone. I decided to try a long exposure from a distance, and propped my camera up with a few rocks, touched the shutter, and this is what I got. I need to try more shots like this lol.
I love photographing the Milky Way during spring because it will make a natural arch across the sky.

13th October 2015 - A view of the Leeds to Liverpool canal disappearing under the Museum of Liverpool and onto the Salthouse Dock from the Pierhead at night.

10th March 2015 - It was such a perfect day a walk down to the beach with the camera was an obvious choice. Sadly the sunset disappointed, but the glass like stillness of the marina more than made up for it.
29th October 2015 - I've been waiting for a night like this since the clocks went back.
No wind and nothing to interfere with the reflections in the water.
Some of my earlier work when I gave night time shots a try. I had to turn those highlights down in Lightroom among other adjustments. Still not that pleased with my night photos in Santorini 2010. Hope you enjoy

Formerly the home of the Detroit Free Press, now on the verge of being an apartment complex downtown. I believe that some bars and restaurants will be there as well. The Detroit Free Press Headquarters is now know as "The Press/321". 321 is the address of this iconic relic. 321 W. Lafayette Blvd.
26th October 2015 - A night time view of the historic Princes Dock in Liverpool (My office on the left..).
Princes Dock is mentioned in the novel Redburn, His First Voyage by Herman Melville (1849):
"In magnitude, cost and durability the docks of Liverpool surpass all others in the world... for miles you may walk along that riverside, passing dock after dock, like a chain of immense fortresses. Prince's Dock, of comparatively recent construction, is perhaps the largest of all and is well known to American sailors from the fact that it is mostly frequented by the American shipping."
It is also were the vast majority of American GI's first stepped foot onto English soil during the second world war. Princes Dock has long been known as an American shipping dock which has certain connotations for me as I work for an American shipping company that is based (at present) on that same dock.
All the men, aircraft, tanks and artillery not to mention the vast amounts of supplies to keep them all running came through this very dock in the early stages of the American participation of World War II.
I go to the Infinity Bridge often to practice, but tonight was worthy of sharing on flickr as the river was very calm.
23rd October 2015 - The final crossing of the day for one of the most famous ferry services in the world. but if I hear THAT song one more time I think I'll break, haha!!
Since the bankruptcy in 2008 a huge majority of our branches have been shut down. Some of them remain empty shells after decades of inactivity, others razed (flattened) to the ground and vacant to this day. This location being the main branch was spared along with a handful of branches that remain open.
