When I was at the Drei Zinnen, I stayed there until it got dark. I wanted to photograph the Drei Zinnen Hütte at night. So I had to walk back the 6 kilometers to the parking lot alone in the dark. It was a bit scary but I survived. Here is the result.

11 objects flying, in a single straight line, over Yosemite Valley.
As I was practicing night sky photos in the Cook’s Meadow, I recognized these objects. They were moving rather fast, so I kept taking photos without using the view finder, hoping my wide angle lens would capture them all in a flame. Of the six shots, this is the only one that caught them all.
They were moving from right to left (toward East, the mountain at lower left is the top of Half Dome) and there were 10 bright ones and 1 very dark (between third and fifth from the right).
I really do not know what they were. But many objects flying at same speed, back to back, in a single straight line, through the star-filled sky, was really beautiful – reminded me of the night train running in the sky from childhood stories.

Never before have I seen so many stars in the sky as in the Dolomites. It was an amazing night.
Noch nie zuvor sah ich so viele Sterne am Himmel wie in den Dolomiten. Es war eine atemberaubend nacht.

This is a photo I took in Trin, on the rooftop of our hotel back in 2022. I layered multiple exposures in post on top of each other to get a bit of a cleaner image.
The “planet” is a green onyx gemstone (in my collection).
I have applied the Night Galaxy sky as a background to my original image.

“The starry night opens its gates to other universes and unseen creatures appear. People may call them demons and fear in their ignorance. But these are only the creations of the stars that bring light in the dark. They have always been and will be. Even when the humanity will disappear”.
I love it when we get away and can see the sky at night without any distracting light. We just spent a month away, part of it in Fiji. I will try not to post too many shots. hahaha!
Some light aurora and lots of stars there over Nova Scotia in Cape Breton. Andromeda Galaxy was very bright in the sky as well as the large section of the Milky Way. Couple satellites as well as a short meteor can be seen.
