Niagara Falls, Ontario

The iconic Horseshoe Falls. Despite a largely uncontrolled and rampant level of commercialism, they remain a stunning sight.

Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada

Although not as impressive or iconic as the more well known Horseshoe falls, the American Falls are still a spectacular sight.

Niagara Falls seen from the Canadian side.

The Canadian Falls are on the right; the American Falls are center-frame. The Niagara River really is that aqua color.

Niagara is to become a portal building of both Malmö University and the district Universitetsholmen in Malmö. The house with its 18 500 square meters will house modern facilities for research and education and will provide a meeting place for students, teachers and university partners and reinforce the University's location in the middle of the city and as a part of the city.

Niagara is designed by the Danish architects Lundgaard & Tranberg and consists of three separate buildings with five, seven and eleven floors, connected by a bright, open atrium. The atrium will span through the lower floors and create an urban space inside the building with a restaurant, café, shop, venues and educational facilities. Other parts of the house will consist of stimulating knowledge environments for students, researchers and teachers.

These are the American side of Niagara Falls. The Maid of the Mist at the bottom is returning with soaked passengers from the Canadian side of the falls.

We received a bit of snow a couple of days ago.

I wanted to catch some images before it all melted, so I drove to Niagara on the Lake. This is overlooking where the Niagara River, which flows through the mighty Niagara Falls, meets Lake Ontario.

Yesterday afternoon.

Just my luck. The day we went to Niagara Falls it had to poor. Thankfully it stopped long enough for me to snap a quick photo that includes the Maid of the Mist.

Early evening at Niagara Falls Canada. The falls are lit up with different color lights. The building in the foreground is Table Rock Welcome Center that has tickets for different tours, restaurants and gift stores.

Niagara Falls Illuminated American Falls

This is about as close as you can get to Niagara Falls, an amazing natural wonder.

Sorting through older pictures that deserve an airing:

The light show at Niagara Falls in the evening is wonderful to see. The color changes periodically, and each gives gives a new feel to this magical place.

The hexagon bokeh were a result of a fine misty mix of rain and snow that was hitting my lens, subsequently refracting the light from the spotlights on the other side.
