Spending the night just above the crater we had to get up early for a morning drive anyway. So why not take some photos of the sunrise.

This eagle has dinner in its right foot talons, so it protects the food rather then flying away and wasting energy.

After a long chase, a Spotted Hyena failed to split her from her newborn calf, but the calf was tiring, so this Western White-bearded Wildebeest mother decided that attack was the best form of defence. The hyena decided that discretion was the better part of valour.
