day 1 (minus a few trial tiles) of tile installation
day 5 of house renovations
i took a picture of the progress, happen to post it, and Vic commented how it was a great backdrop for a picture. so, i took advantage of the break the guys were on, and set up my phone to snap. :D so thank you, Vic for that b/c i was able to shoot my 365 right there and then.
we ended up finishing the living room completely, the hallway, bathroom, dining, kitchen and laundry room. at some point, over the tile that had already set from the night before, i did a little merengue w/ the hubs, and then "flashdanced" to "she's a maniac". hahah!! and all that was left to do for sunday was measure & cut the tile for the edge/border up against the wall.
Long, long, long day and i couldn't be prouder of the husband and the work he's put in. he's busted his ass like no other to get this done. thank the heavens the ones that came through to help us, even in the smallest of ways. we're so blessed to have such a great people in our lives. :D
also, to everyone showing support online <3
the new shower tiles in my parents' master bathroom, the second bathroom they are remodeling. This one used to be the pink bathroom, which is hilarious, because I've since found an entire website dedicated to saving 1950s pink bathrooms. Too late! It looks huge with the tiles all the way up to the ceiling. You can see all the remodel photos here.
While Mom was down for art day, she came up to see the new tile. As you can see, Angel and Ash came to have a look, too. Sidi is running around somewhere in the background, and Chloe had already reclaimed the big beanbag in the den!
Time frame: 3 - 4 PM
Shots done for the Jules' Photo Challenge Group- per the challenge:
The June challenge is to tell the rest of the group the story of a day in your life. You can pick any day this month-what ever works best for you as long as all your pictures are posted by the end of the month. You're probably wondering just how this is going to work, right? Well, let me tell you. :)
On the day of your choosing, you are going to take one picture every hour that you are awake (from the time you get out of bed in the morning until you go back to sleep that night) The pictures do not need to be taken right on the hour, just within that hour. They all do not need to be taken with the same camera or even by you. (Yes, you can get help for this one.) HOWEVER, if you are not the one behind the lens you better be the one in front of it! (You know what I mean!) Use your collection of pictures to show and/or tell us what you did throughout your day.
(2007) Mom & Dad recently replaced the old formica counter tops with tile. Looks pretty good, I guess; I'm just glad the disruptions caused by the installations are over.
Still have lots to do. Installation of the molding around the shower, crown molding, sink, medicine cabinet and the cabinet above the toilet.
A little red dogwood and a big yellow oak.

a few (highly skilled and amazing) friends helped us put down tile in our kitchen and half-bath. i LOVE it! :-)

I had to cut a hole in the wall under the sink and behind the bathroom tub to fix the over-flow that was disconnected. Puma wanted to see what I was up to and really just wanted me to go out and play.
During install of the new ring after the tile was installed, someone dropped a bolt down the sewer drain......and I had the joy of reaching in and retrieving it!
Laminated newspaper article in bucher's shop in Newtile, Angus, outlines the importance of innovation. Not the place one might expect such thought and application!
it's hard to get the color right on this computer - the orange is much less sherberty in real life and the green blue you see is actually blue. I can't wait to see it on the wall.
