A ynet news editor thinks the Turks mass-murdered Americans during WWI. Possibly, he didn't know the word "Armenian" and thought it must mean "American". AND he accepted the Turk position on the matter (i.e., just "a massacre", not a genocide).

Folks gather 'round this bright red shack to buy hot dogs on sticks and fresh lemonade. Santa Monica, Los Angeles, CA.

Newsflash: Thanks to the miracle of Wikipedia, I just learned this was the original Hot Dog on a Stick location. In 2006, I visited the world's first Chipolte - see And Let There Be Burritos.

Each 3 3/8" square sheet used was about a $1.75. They were so thin, they would flutter like a flag if you exhaled anywhere near them.

After a day of 100 degree temps, road construction, a thunder storm, and nasty crosswinds, we stopped in Livingston, MT for the night. We were zonked. The electricity in the whole town went out just as I finished paying for the room. We took showers in the dark, hung up all of our sweaty clothes to dry, then went searching for dinner as we hadn't had a meal today. Oops, no electricity, no restaurants open. The Albertson's across the street still had deli chicken and emergency generators running the cash registers, so we grabbed what was left and had a picnic on the lawn of our Super 8. A goumet meal for our first night out.

"Rail Labor is standing strong and united in the face of railroad greed and rail employer abuses. The carriers use us, then abuse us. We will not tolerate it; we will fight it.

A united Rail Labor demands that the carriers abandon their scorched earth policy of labor relations and negotiate fair and equitable contracts with all the union's representing railroad employees whose hard work and dedication have generated record profits for the carriers. Rail Labor demands fairness and respect. Nothing more; nothing less."
