The anniversary of Buddy Holly's death in the early hours of 3 February 1959. He was killed along with Richie Valens and J.P.Richardon (The Big Bopper) when the Beach Bonanza aircraft in which they were travelling crashed in snow near Mason City. Roger Peterson, the pilot, was also killed.

The singers had been performing at the "Winter Dance Party" in Clear Lake Iowa and were bound for their next concert in North Dakota. They only chartered the aircraft because their tour bus had broken down with heating problems.

08.42am, 19th July 2005. Shoreditch High Street.

It had happened about a minute or two earlier, and the police were still in some state of confusion, undecided about whether to cordon off the usually very busy road or not. A fire engine and ambulance were yet to arrive.

There's a Policeman being attended to on the pavement behind the car.

Lingerie Football League All-Star Games Tour; Sydney, Australia

Tonight the American born Lingerie Football League enjoyed its virgin game on Australian soil.

All Phones Arena was blessed with the privilege of staging the first game in Australia.

What was on offer? - tits and ass of course, and a good spread of athletic talent. We really enjoyed the girls individual celebrations after they scored the all important touchdowns, made even more visually titillating with spray tan thanks to the all important sponsor - Mobile Spray Tanning.

If your into NRL you might be into this, and if your into pro wrestling aka sports entertainment, you will probably have a strong appreciation of this unusual, titillating and exciting sport that seems to be perfect for a good number of Australian alpha males.

Well done players and promoters for putting on a heck of a show. Looks like this special brand of footy has already developed more than just a grass roots fan base down under in Australia.

The 2012 LFL All-Star Game will feature 32 of the most athletic and beautiful women across the league as the Western and Eastern Conference teams clash in front of projected capacity crowds in Sydney and Brisbane, two cities that the LFL has identified as being potential homes for two of the franchises in 2013. Expect these games to be as explosive, combative and competitive as all the LFL games are as each player strives to impress for selection into the teams in 2013.

LFL Football, described at the 'ultimate live sports experience', has developed one of its largest international fan bases in Australia having developed a cult-like following on Australian broadcaster Fuel TV since the league’s inception in 2009. As much success as the LFL has enjoyed in the US, internationally the appetite for LFL Football has been even greater being broadcast in nearly 43 countries and drawing near capacity crowds in previous international game play in Mexico and Canada. The appeal internationally has been strong enough for the LFL to announce the formation and kick-off of several international leagues to include LFL Canada (Fall 2012), LFL Australia (Summer 2013) and LFL Europa (2014).

Newsflash: Federal Minister for Sport Kate Lundy Is Not A Fan!...

Federal Minister for Sport Kate Lundy: "Stop the Lingerie Football League in Australia. Our daughters deserve more. The LFL is about giving viewers an opportunity to perve on women in gear that looks like it's come from an adult shop. Women of the match?

Chloe Butler and Liz Gorman seemed to get over pretty well with the Sydney fan base. Not bad looking for football players, and multi talented for certain.

Our story opens where countless stories have ended in the last twenty-six years: with an idiot—in this case, my brother Shaun—deciding it would be a good idea to go out and poke a zombie with a stick to see what happens.-Feed Ch1.

I've been wanting to build something from Mira Grant's Newsflash trilogy since I read the books this summer. The grill tiles under the dirt bike serve two purposes. 1 they help the bike stay upright and 2 serve as rudimentary tire tracks. Link to the first chapter of FEED.

Cheryl Cole wears Bodyamr for X factor

Another Saturday night, another Cheryl dress-spot. But what's this? Newsflash! After weeks of wearing Matthew Williamson on the X Factor, Ms Cole has upped the fashion stakes by choosing one of the hottest new underground labels... The halter-neck white dress from Saturday night's show was by little-known label, BodyAmr (pronounced 'Body Armour'). And here's a little-known music fact Cheryl might appreciate about her new-favourite label. According to the designer, Amr Ali, the name came about when he was having dinner one night with Annie Lennox! Cheryl worked the dress with an Oscar de la Renta belt and Jimmy Choo heels - can that girl do no fashion wrong these days..? "grazia online

Cheryl Ann Cole (née Tweedy; born 30 June 1983) is an English singer, songwriter, dancer, fashion designer, author, and television personality. Cole rose to fame in the 2000s after becoming a member of pop group Girls Aloud through ITV's reality television programme Popstars: The Rivals.[1] They have become one of the few UK reality television acts to achieve continued success, amassing a fortune of £25 million by May 2009.[2] With Girls Aloud, Cole has been successful in achieving a string of 20 consecutive UK top ten singles (including four number ones), two UK number one albums, and received nominations for four BRIT Awards, winning Best Single in 2009 for "The Promise".[3]

In 2008, Cole became a judge on the British reality television show The X Factor.[4] Cole has become recognized as a style icon,[5][6][7] appearing on the cover of British Vogue and Elle.[7] She is married to the Chelsea and England football player Ashley Cole.

Cole will release her debut solo album 3 Words on 26 October 2009.[8]

i think a lot of people need to follow this.

So many people hate. So many people. And for absolutley stupid reasons, too. Jealousy, envy, just the thrill to hate. etc.

Im here just to say and make a pointer or two.

Demi; Changing.

- First of all, everyone changes. You honestly can't expect yourself to be the excact same person all your freaking life. Demi is changing into a much more mature person. She went from a rocker to a glamour girl. Ooh, suddenly shes a bad girl. Really? Grow the heck up.

- Secondly Who are YOU to judge her? She has enough stress with being in Hollywood. Does she need a hater? No.

Demi; friendship w/Selena.

- So many people are pulling for a Selena and Demi best friend reunion. Newsflash: They are STILL friends. I'll admit, they're not as tight as they used to be. What do you expect? Demi's got a TV Show and a soon tour. Selena has movies coming out, and a TV Show. They don't have time to get on the phone just to say "hi!".

- What do you want from them? To bend over and kiss eachothers asses everyday?! They need space too! I have a best friend and we're not obessivley over at each others houses and talking.Even the tightest knit friends need air to breathe.

- You people have so much expectation from them. Its as if, if they're not seen together, OMIGOSH THEY'RE NOT FRIENDS ANYMORE?!? Really? And if you are saying that? You need to chill or get laaaaaaaaid.

Demi; "Fake"

- People who state that so unreasonable adjective to sum her up, are stupid. Shes the realest person in Hollywood! Wanna see fake? Google Heidi Montag.

-----------

Miley; Clothes.

- For some reason this is a major bump for a lot of people. Its weird, you know? Because, um, it was okay for Britney to wear crop tops in her music videos and sexy school outfits at 16. But if Miley wears something that goes above her knees, shes a whore. Lady Gaga shows up to a Yankees game in nothing but black lingerie and an open jersey. Oh, but thats nothing compared to Miley showing the back of her bra in the spider web inspired shirt. And recently, Kendall Kardashian posed in a bikini and shes only fourteen. Miley--seventeen--if she did that she's a major slut. What the fuck?! Stop being a shmuck and a hypocrite. Stop saying its okay for Britney and Gaga and Kendall and make exceptions for Miley just because you hate/dislike her.

- She should be allowed to wear whatever the fuck she wants. You probably don't like it when people cut down on your for whatever you wear, so why do it to someone else.

Miley; Music.

- No one excepts that Miley wants to move on. She is seven-freaking-teen. You really think she wants to sing Childrens Bubblegum Pop? C'mon now! Im twelve freaking years old and I don't even listen to Bubblegum Pop! You need to accept that!

- If you don't like it! Turn off the radio!

Miley; Attitude

- Everyone acts like Miley is such a diva and that she is spoiled. All I have to say is, have you ever met her? Has she ever made you bring things to her dressing room. And dont give me that bullshit story about how you read about in tabloids. Those stories are almost never fcuking true.

- Ever heard of Liberty of Speech. She's allowed to say whatever she wants. And haters, dont try to make it aply to yourselfs. Besides, the shit you say probably ain't even true.

-----------------------

Mess with Demi or Miley,

and you miss with me.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I wake up at 5:45am. I look outside. I groan. Fall in Wyoming is different than in most places.....

Just to be clear -for my own place of consciousness and healing -not to mention moving forward in LIFE, whether it's Second Life, FIRST life, Third, Fourth and/or Fifth Life (we call these ALTS for those who are unaware), watch the words of people. When you're doing what they want, what makes THEM happy, they will tell you they care. When they're not getting it or the pattern of it all has changed, caring STOPS. Newsflash: They never really cared.

Yes, I log in, check on, look at profiles, re-watch gyazos and look at pics because I STILL care. Doesn't mean I'm longing for a reunion, doesn't mean I'm not happy doing what I'm doing, it means I always DID care. Never confuse good fucking for caring and never confuse pain for NOT caring.

<33

HBW! :D

I've been really busy these days because I've missed almost all of my classes last week and this week I have to catch up... I'm also frustrated because I missed some lessons and we're having about 4 or 5 more tests this week and the next one, meh. I'm tiiired! :(

Ohhh, newsflash. I finally got to see Avatar at the cinema last Saturday. All I have to say is that watching it is a total must on your TO DO list before you die. :D It's freaking brilliant, breathtaking! I cried like a baby and I laughed and I was totally impressed with the story, the production, the effects... everything was perfect. <3

I won't be much around these weeks, so sorry! :( I'm really busy with school and everything, now I have to study and study to get some good grades... Can't wait for the next school break!

Really thank you for all the support, you're amazing! <33 *hugsss*

Have a great day! ^^

/me calls the milkcarton people.

After a four hour standoff "Scruffy McThugger" was finally apprehended. It took the combined efforts of Aquaman, Green Lantern and Batman to thwart his villainy. His only comment after being captured was "Dude, what the #$!!, these freaks have been chasing me all day! This is freaking stupid, wheres my mommy?!?"

Chloe Butler and Liz Gorman seemed to get over pretty well with the Sydney fan base. Not bad looking for football players, and multi talented for certain.

If your into NRL you might be into this, and if your into pro wrestling aka sports entertainment, you will probably have a strong appreciation of this unusual, titillating and exciting sport that seems to be perfect for a good number of Australian alpha males.

.

THE INEXPERIENCED MAN does the same thing every time—he buys a hardware store axe.

If one is going to do any amount of enjoyable camping, or hiking, and one needs to build a fire, or the framework for a shelter, one should be duty-bound to buy oneself a decent axe.

Do YOURSELF a favour.

For once, just this ONCE…buy yourself a quality tool.

A hardware store axe is all wrong.

Blunt, broad bladed, and made of cheap, brittle steel.

Junk. Disposable.

A GOOD GENERAL PURPOSE AXE is made of hand-forged quality steel by a professional blacksmith. He'll have his initials on it likely. It will have a hickory handle with woodgrain parallel to the axe blade. The handle will be long enough to allow for a powerful swing (18-22") but is still short enough to put conveniently in a pack. The blade will have its' own grain-leather sheath. A quality axe is a legacy tool, will survive lots of use, and can even be passed down from father to son.

Above all, a good axe is SHARP, and BITES DEEP into the wood.

You'll work a lot less.

Bushcrafters (survivalists), campers, and hunters, all need to collect and process wood. These small scale activities are ideally suited for an axe. Light hammering is also the default application of axes out in the woods. Nobody brings a hammer.

PICTURED ABOVE is my new Small Forest Axe made by Gränfors Bruk of Sweden. Forged by blacksmith CS (Christian Sjölund). It has a 19" handle and the axe head weighs 1.5 pounds. The handle received several Linseed Oil treatments by Barbara. Barb ALWAYS DOES precision work. Germans, and those descended from them, are naturally precise. Don't get a hack to treat that handle!

NEWSFLASH! The Small Forest is considered one of the best all-round, general purpose axes. Famed woodsman RAY MEARS prefers it above all his axes. The Small Forest Axe can fell a tree, and split wood down but does not specialize in either activity. It also is not a carving or a throwing axe.

The Small Forest Axe is sorta like a all-in-one hatchet, felling axe, and splitting maul. A steal at around $159 Canadian! Comes with the famous Gränfors Bruk Axe Book (a manual).

NOT available in hardware stores—anywhere.

ONLY found in specialty stores.

In the Toronto/GTA/ you'll find them HERE:

Clearly!? Evidently this isn't as obvious to me as it is to Dr. Way[toodumbtoteachmath]mack, because I'm lost, lost, lost in my online math class, which, incidentally, is DUE on Monday. Oh dear nondenominational deities.

Well, today was immensely long. It began at 4:30am. That's in the morning, when it's still dark out, for those of you who were unawares. So that was rough, as we proceeded to do the whole fly-back-to-Oregon-even-though-you're-so-tired-you-can't-seem-to -function thing.

When I stepped off the plane it was gorgeous out. And generally I hate that word, but it was completely applicable. SO, I said to myself, Naomi, let's take your 365 with the lovely mountains or someit like that, but then I remembered I had a large spoonful of math to cram down my brain's throat.

I proceeded to while away the pretty, happy, worldly world out there doing math, inside and being not-happy. Of course. So this picture kinda sums up that sentiment.

I've made a decision to change my life. I want to be happy. So I just will, thank you very much. My plan is to wake up bright and early tomorrow morning and go for a run. I shall bring Mr. Camera-------------

WAIT, newsflash: I left my battery (pronounced battry) and charger at GMa's. Oh damn. It's actually ok though, grandma if you're reading this because I have an extra charger and that battery was dying and I need to buy a new one anyhow.

Yes. Pictures tomorrow. I'm feeling it.

Twelve of 365.

A disappointing lightstream experiment in the Berkeley hills. So far I have found no better location for long night exposures than Center and Shattuck.

While I was standing around waiting for cars to go by one of the neighbors came out and we had a little chat because he thought taking photos at night was "weird" and they "had had break-ins." Newsflash, Walter Cronkite: the highly conspicuous guy standing under a streetlight with a tripod and backpack full of camera gear isn't the guy you need to worry about robbing your house.

Built from a series of long exposures using the "lighten only" blend mode in GIMP.

Dedicated to the victims and families of the gun violence and mass shootings in America.

Much smaller countries understand that the weapons being used in mass killings are weapons of war, and that controlling access to them is a matter of public safety. It isn't simply about mental illness, or race, or better records and tracking, or freedom of choice, or board games. It's about protecting the health and safety and sanity of our citizens. It's also about protecting our first responders who do not have equitable fire power or body armor.

We used to have an assault weapons ban. We currently don’t. State laws are inconsistent, and guns of all kinds are easily transported over state lines. They are also sold in stores, over the Internet, at gun shows, and easily obtained from the streets. And they are shipped via various carriers. Plus weapons can easily be stolen from home collections.

Societal conditioning plays a huge role in American attitudes, as does the fact that America is one of the most warlike countries ever to exist. Men want guns - though most don’t hunt for their food, and those who do don’t need weapons of mass destruction. It isn’t sportsmanlike. And NEWSFLASH: half the adults in this country are women - women not obsessed by guns, fighting, or weapons of war. They tend to see the issue differently as most give life, not take life.

But it isn’t just about weapons of war or assault rifles. Guns and gun violence are everywhere here, and as a result this country has seen increasing numbers of suicides and homicides facilitated by hand guns. The Internet is full of hate. TV shows are full of violence. Most 'crime' shows feature horrific crimes against women, with men often going unpunished for years. There is a message in that about the 'worth' of women, and violence and crime. Children grow up with those messages, and they live with increasing incidents of violence and hatred on mixed media and in their lives, including bullying at school. It is all allowed under "freedom of speech.'

The values many of us grew up with are vanishing, or already gone, things like ethics, morals, conscience, and empathy. Those values are what united us, and made us strong as a country and admired around the world. No more.

The only way to control killings with weapons of mass destruction is to remove the weapons. When you can't control the people you control the availability of the weapons they use. Because If the weapons aren't available they can't be used to commit crimes. It’s that simple.

When it comes down to the right of the general public to live safely and sanely - or the right of a relative few to keep and bear arms to be used for reasons other than self-defense, the choice is obvious to reasonable people.

The kinds of weapons causing the problems are not necessary in a civilized society. It is a question of safety for the entire American public. Weapons of war do not belong on the streets. The majority should rule. It isn't always about individual choice. Or machismo. Or ego. Sometimes it's about sanity, and decency, and common sense.

And in this case the needs of the majority must take precedence over the wants of the few.

~ Reservoir Dogs.

Newsflash: My second knee surgery of the year will take place on June 2nd. At the moment I feel like I’ve won the lottery. Hmmm. Well, you know what I mean.

Explored! Thanks again, all. Highest position: #174.

I came across this sandcastle while monitoring Hooded Plovers along the Shipwreck Coast, and that was the first thing that came to mind! If only!

Hooded Plovers are the most threatened of our beach-nesting birds and their nests and chicks face a multitude of threats including people (trampling, disturbance etc), dogs, cats, foxes, Magpies, Ravens, Gulls, Kestrels ... high tides, extremes in weather etc. etc.

...so the ability to build a decent castle might come in handy, along with a course of self defence lessons... though it must be said they do pretty well in that department, and are often seen leading predators (and people) away from their nests and chicks and chasing off much bigger birds including Gulls... they are wonderful birds that never give up...

It's called the Lingerie Football League because it's almost exclusively about the underwear."

Women of the match?

Chloe Butler and Liz Gorman seemed to get over pretty well with the Sydney fan base. Not bad looking for football players, and multi talented for certain.
