After working the yard for a while, the 11am Springdale switcher with A&M 56 and 57 has come out the spur to the east side of Springdale and is working the Newly Weds Foods facility pulling empty pressure hoppers and respotting the loads that were already there. From what I could tell this was the furthest east customer with surplus and storage cars at the end of it.

Same bench, but different mayfly than the previous one that was prey. This bench is mere feet from Coal Creek where they are hatching. Happy Fly Day Friday everyone!

This dog-day cicada (top of photo) just recently molted, or climbed out of its exoskeleton (bottom of photo). It flew away soon after I took this photo.

This species stays underground for only 1 to 2 years, before it emerges from the ground and mates.

A different species called the 17 year cicada, stays underground for 17 years before emerging from the ground. Watch this video:

This is a newly built church in our town. Architectural plot has a historical base (it's an inexact copy of 1330 Kremlin cathedral/monastery destroyed in 1933). I love the job they've done! It stand in a forest and looks like it had always been there. Completely white with white stone carving.

Newly restored to its former glory, BR(W) Hawksworth "Modified Hall” 4-6-0 no.6990 ‘Witherslack Hall’ storms out of Loughborough under Beeches Road bridge, with the 14:30 Loughborough-Leicester North train

Newly 9 years old. It's scary how big he's getting. Isaac means laughing one and he certainly is, and does.

Newly attired in Regional Railways colours the DRS class 37 has moved from the far west to the far east to act as a 'spare'. It's journey was far from smooth though with it running 40 minutes early at Slough. This however had turned to 40 minutes late passing West Ealing after unscheduled visits to both Hanwell and West Ealing loops. It steadily clawed back time and was only two minutes late passing me in light rain. I wouldn't normally bother making the effort to record a light engine movement but this is the first visit of a Reggie Rail liveried Tractor locally. It was fortunate that I wasn't waiting on platform 4 for this as a 12 car 360 rolled in a minute earlier blocking any view.

Newly Preserved Volvo Olympian with an Alexander RL body arrived at her new home on Thursday 28th July 2016.

Coming home to Ocean Terminal Volvo B7RLE / Wright Urban Eclipse number 142 (SK07 CFP) likes to play mostly on services 2, 36 and 38 working out of Longstone shed and seen here wearing a new coat of 'Fleet of the Future' paint.

This looks brand new - the shine like that of a mirror and passengers waiting to board will be seen adjusting their hair or tie as they do so, behold the image it's fair rare.

The young Osprey have left the nest. One was across the track in a snag on Sumas Mountain. The other one was very close to the nest on a crossbar of a power pole. I could hear Mom calling out as she was near the first youngster in another snag. Dad arrived with a fish and there was no one in the nest. He eventually flew over to a nearby tree with the fish. Mom came back to the nest waiting for the fish delivery and finally left to have words with Dad. Not sure what happened at that point. After 30 minutes Osprey #1 stayed in it's tree on Sumas Mountain and Osprey #2 stay on it's power bar and I left.

I think I can only photograph babies.. the adults are always too wary for me ..sigh!! Anyway I have spent 4 years trying to get a good shot of a Goldcrest and the other night they were all around whistling gently, hidden in the firs. But, briefly, this baby stopped in the light :-)

Noticed this very small newly opened bloom among the new rose bushes. Thought it different and beautiful. Thanks to Seto and Mark for the ID, a variety of Bee Balm/Bergamot. Only about 6 inches tall total.

6 minutes my foot. When I arrived at this spot the sun was right and the street was interesting for a different photo. After 10 months away from September 2017-July 2018 Lothian Buses 41 was away however now it's back it looks pretty brilliant. Here we see Lothian 41 in the new hybrid livery on a service 12 to Seafield seen here approaching Leith Links.
