I was going to reject this, then I noticed the odd way it is tilted against the camber of the road. One day this image may become more interesting as these cars will look dated long before the bus does
Carrying Rapid branding, an MTS San Diego New Flyer bendybus prepares to set off from Sante Fe Depot for its express journey to Escondido, a route that will take for long stretches on the Interstate I-15.
A one-directional, clock-wise route that connects neighborhoods to more resource rich areas. This route begins and end in Highland Park. The main streets served are Oakland, Rosa Parks, St Antoine and Second. I was out here yesterday practising my photography with my iPhone seeing that it was too cloudy for me to use my DSLR at the time. This photo turned out so well, it wasn’t even worth editing. Side note, I used to drive this route when it first came out around late 2016-early 2017 (the exact time escapes me right now), but of the now ill-fated new routes that DDOT (Detroit Department of Transportation) have created, this was one of the few that actually made it. It was one of my favourite routes! I drove it for two weeks straight. Had a blast with it!
A New Flyer D60LF articulated bus of Long Beach Transit on Atlantic Avenue in Bixby Knolls. Note the old-style Carl's Jr. sign in the background.
Backstory/TLDR: After I left DDOT (Detroit Dep’t of Transportation), I decided to work for Hertz as a bus driver. At Detroit International Airport the rental companies were located outside the airport, and the fleet consisted of Gillig, which I have a huge disdain for, I’ve always been partial to New Flyer. And hopefully the Detroit fleet will switch over NF. I may even post a pic of the coaches I’ve driven at the airport.
And BTW, TLDR means “too long, didn’t read”, for those of you who are on Reddit, you know what I mean.
