Saw this on facebook. I told my daughter she should get her hair cut like this and i kinda like the color too... maybe for the summer. She kind of looks like this girl too. We'll see....

It's Saturday and like most women in the world I went to the hair salon. She did a little something different. I try not to change much but it will grow on me.
I took my wigs in for maintenance this morning to get them cleaned up prior to Keystone. It was going to take about 3 hours, so unless I wanted to go wander around in my 1/2" of hair I needed something new.
I was already thinking of getting something longer to complement what I have and to give me something that can actually be played with for more formal events. Here's the take away. :)
It didn't immediately make me say "Ooooh!", but when she played with it and showed me some options, it was a definite yes. First thing I did after walking it was go get a band to put it in a ponytail; much better fit for daytime.

got a major hair cut! yup, his shaggy do is gone and he loves it. i do too (it's so much easier to deal with!), it's just going to take some getting used to. cooper's next, just not that short. ;)
I am SO IN LOVE WITH MY HAIR. Seriously. If you know me you know my self-confidence is about minus ten, and I can't stop looking at myself. I gave her an idea of what I wanted but one thing I have learned about Michelle is that she has the eye, yo. I let her decide. I give a basic idea and let her run with it. I LOVE it. It turned out BETTER than I hoped. The cut AND the color.
So I actually did little editing on mine. Perhaps I used different settings and I know I used hot lights and Dave just used a strobe, but I feel like mine reflect the color a bit better but his shows the contrast, if that makes sense. The hair is 2-tone...a purply brown on top and jet black underneath. I think his shows the black better, so GO SEE HIS! But I feel like it looks TOO brown and when I look in the mirror I see more purple.
My YIP was not meant to be my new hair, it was meant to be having it cut, but Michelle took them for me, I totally forgot. So that doesn't exactly count.
I LOVE IT. And Dave loves it and that makes me so happy. eeeee!

#45: When I worked at Nordstrom I consistently had about twoHUNDRED pairs of shoes at a time. I cleaned out the closet and donated about 2x a year. I had a great discount and bought trendy stuff. I have cut down a lot (I don't buy shoes that often and I go for comfort now) and own about 40-50 pair, but only regularly wear about 10.
The most I have ever spent on a single pair of shoes is about $260. I am fairly certain I still have those shoes, and even though they are probably grossly out of style I like wearing them. They are pretty and feminine and the quality is to die for. Luckily, I have such a bad back and small pocketbook I don't go crazy on shoes anymore.

Well, I rarely post a so-called "selfie" but my new hairdresser wanted to know if I did "facebook" so I could recommend her!
This was the best I could "do" with my "do" to promote this wonderful gal! And, this is also another first, as I've done my own hair for the past 5 or so years . . . it was time for a treat!
And now I'm hooked! I felt like I should be going to a prom or something!!!
ps....the nail job is fake! I just painted them on line with a rouge filter!!! I still don't indulge in manicures!

One final shot to end the weekend. I was putting away my doll heads and came across the "Big Texas" hair Kara I styled for the Western photo shoot. I gave her a light conditioning and blow out to tone down her look and make it more useable...while keeping the volume.
I decided to get a haircut during lunch. The angle is pretty severe and choppy, but I really like it.

Daily Dog Challenge : Dear Diary......I’m told that today was a spa day, but I am confused. What happened to the full body massage ..... the facial .... the pampering? Yeah, I did get the manicure and everyone tells me how pretty I am, but I was kind of hoping for the human variety of a spa day.
I am kind of amazed at how well the camera handles a high ISO. This was shot ISO 8000!

With the New Year looming, i decided to get a "new do".....sort of just happened when i went for my cut and she asked "so what are we doing?" I gave her free reign to do something a bit edgier for me....so it is rather short in the back....much shorter than i normally go....and i LOVE it! For the most part i have gotten rave reviews....but, i decided before any of that, that as long as I like it, it doesn't matter...
now....the trespassing thing...it clearly says "NO HUNTING, NO FISHING, NO TRAPPING"....so i totally think this does not mean me....since i was doing nothing of the sort! Nowhere on this sign does it say i could not take a picture in the dreary NJ landscape....so, i rest my case!
As for New Year's Resolutions....i have decided to TRY to be a more confident me...TRY not to let things that go wrong upset me so much...take each failure and turn it into a lesson learned, without berating myself...Love my friends and family MORE...and continue to be the wonky-crazy-fun-loving-spirited person that i really am inside. Hope you all join me on my 2010 journey, because i need all the help and encouragement i can get! Love you ALL!
