We enjoyed a beautiful morning with our friend Daniel taking pictures of Stubbs Falls. It was a memorable experience being there, in complete peace and silence, only broken by the running waters crashing against the rocks.
We loved this place, and thanks to Daniel we could visit it. It was an unforgettable experience indeed.

After the rains of last week, some water is flowing again through this waterfall. Anyway, we need much more rain to see it in its full splendor. Hopefully, this Autumn brings the so necessary rains to Madrid´s Sierra and we can enjoy a nature rebirth.

Después de las lluvias de la semana pasada, vuelve a fluir algo de agua por esta cascada. De todos modos, necesitamos mucha más lluvia para verla en todo su esplendor. Ojalá este Otoño traiga las tan necesarias lluvias a la Sierra madrileña y podamos disfrutar de un renacer de la naturaleza.

Well, I must confess that this is probably my favorite sight of the Cinco Towers from my surroundings, so after the sundown I went to my favorite spot for taking this picture with the last colors of sunset in a partly cloudy sky that brought us very comforting and necessary rains during the morning.
Taken at 9:03 pm with about 73F or 22ºC in a very pleasant evening over Madrid.

Bueno, debo confesar que esta es probablemente mi vista favorita de las Cinco Torres desde mi entorno, así que después del atardecer fui a mi lugar favorito para tomar esta foto con los últimos colores del atardecer en un cielo medio nublado que nos trajo unas lluvias necesarias y reconfortantes durante la mañana.
Tomada a las 21:03 con unos 22ºC de temperatura en una tarde muy agradable sobre Madrid.

We enjoyed delicious pizzas and sweet desserts at Boston Pizza, located by the river in downtown Huntsville.
The kindness of this establishment staff, specially of Erika, made us feel very satisfied with our experience there, so much that we repeated.

Taking a very pleasant walk along the Hunters Bay Trail, thanks to the recommendation of our friend Daniel Gibson, we were able to see beautiful colors on the opposite shore. As you can see, the colors were so attractive and captivating that we couldn't take our eyes off them.
These beautiful houses by the bay can boast an enviable quality of life.

As the water was so tranquil and calm, I decided to take a long exposure picture of the reflections displayed by the beacons at the marine and the masts lights.
I opted to choose a f/22 in order to get some starbursts, that I know many of you like much.

After enjoying a beautiful day in Huntsville, we went to River Mill Park, in the downtown, to catch some reflections at dusk.
The waters were very quiet and they offered us magical reflections of the houses located on the opposite shore.
Although it was a little cold, we enjoyed much taking pictures from that spot in complete quietness. The colors of the trees, the silence and the peace was something as notable as enjoyable.

We enjoyed a beautiful Tuesday listening the water flowing in the creek in completely quietness, with no people around us.
I think that moment provided us a lot of peace and wellness to go back to Madrid the next day.
This a section of the stream named Matasalgado coming from Puerto de Navacerrada, still with enough flow after the snow melt in the summits.

Creo que ese momento nos proporcionó mucha paz y bienestar para volver a Madrid al día siguiente.
Se trata de un tramo del arroyo denominado Matasalgado procedente del Puerto de Navacerrada, todavía con bastante caudal tras el deshielo de las cumbres.

Fotografía tomada a las 07:25 AM, momento en el que un aún tímido sol empieza a levantar sobre el horizonte, en uno de los días que posiblemente sea de los más calurosos del verano.
Según algunos medios de comunicación, las temperaturas máximas podrán alcanzar los 40ºC, según otros medios podrán alcanzar los 42ºC. Veremos hasta dónde llega el termómetro.
A la hora de tomar esta foto la temperatura exterior era de 23ºC, aunque el viento estaba totalmente en calma.

Heavy traffic in this always busy highway 403, aka Queen Elizabeth Way, or QEW, during the evening rush hour.
This sight is looking towards East, that´s to say, towards the city of Toronto, 47 km away from this spot, located in Burloak Drive, in the border between Oakville and Burlington.
It´s always exciting to see the traffic coming and going, so many lives and different stories on board their vehicles...

Tráfico denso en esta siempre concurrida autopista 403, también conocida como Queen Elizabeth Way, o QEW, durante la hora punta de la tarde.
Esta vista es mirando hacia el Este, es decir, hacia la ciudad de Toronto, a 47 km de este lugar, ubicado en Burloak Drive, en el límite entre Oakville y Burlington.
Siempre es emocionante ver el tráfico yendo y viniendo, tantas vidas e historias diferentes a bordo de sus vehículos...

I got up to see the sunrise colors from our terrace in Navacerrada, and I was not disappointed to see the intensity of the reds and oranges hues in a really nice calm environment.

Occasionally I like to go to the outskirts of the forest park to take a photo of the Five Towers.

After a highest temperature of 102F (39ºC) in the capital, some storms developed in the surroundings of Madrid, reaching the city. The colors of the torrid sunset was intensified by the clouds.
In this image, you can see the Five Towers from Hortaleza, a district in the northeast of Madrid with some rain curtains in the background.

Después de alcanzar una temperatura máxima de 39ºC en la capital, se desarrollaron algunas tormentas en los alrededores de Madrid, llegando a la ciudad. Los colores del tórrido atardecer se intensificaron con las nubes.

It was quite a challenge for me to be able to take a photo of this Black-winged Blue Damselfly, because she did not stop moving, she did not stay still anywhere, and I am not very used to this type of photos.
Among some tall grasses, I finally managed to photograph her.

We were speaking about the estimated price of a home like this in that dreamy scenery. We couldn´t precise the amount of money invested to acquire a house like that, as it depends on its dimensions. Lying back in the flowery meadow contemplating these little wild flowers that grow on the shores of the Navacerrada reservoir.
I took this photo enjoying a great moment of tranquility and freshness, only disturbed by the unleashed dogs, whose owners are always bathing them in the drinking water reservoir, breaking the rules and tranquility.
I cannot understand how it is so difficult to obey the laws and respect those who do not have a dog, like us. In fact, I'm coming to hate dogs and their owners. In this reservoir, nestled in the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park, owners can be seen with four, five or six unleashed dogs. In addition to this, the vast majority of dog owners do not pick up the shits left behind by their pets. That is totally inadmissible!
Well, no more words about this unpleasant issue.

Pradera florida de ensueño a orillas del embalse de Navacerrada, Navacerrada, Madrid, España
Tumbado de nuevo en el prado florido contemplando estas florecitas silvestres que crecen a orillas del embalse de Navacerrada.
Tomé esta foto disfrutando de un gran momento de tranquilidad y frescor, solo perturbado por los perros sueltos, cuyos dueños siempre los están bañando en el embalse de agua potable, burlando las normas y la tranquilidad.
No puedo entender cómo es tan difícil obedecer las leyes y respetar a los que no tienen perro, como nosotros. De hecho, estoy terminando por odiar a los perros y sus dueños. En este embalse, enclavado en el Parque Nacional de la Sierra de Guadarrama, se pueden ver propietarios con cuatro, cinco o seis perros sueltos. Además de esto, la gran mayoría de los dueños de perros no recogen las heces que dejan sus mascotas. ¡Eso es totalmente inadmisible!
Bueno, no más palabras sobre este desagradable asunto.
Espero que disfrutéis de este momento íntimo que compartimos con estas pequeñas bellezas.

This beautiful chalet, named as "Siete Picos" in honor to Siete Picos Mountain Range, which can be seen in the background, has been abandoned and, subsequently, vandalized, something that unfortunately is usually happening in Spain.
I imagine the splendor of this large house when it was built many years ago, in the splendor period of the 70´s or 80´s in Sierra de Madrid. In fact, it´s located in a beautiful urbanization called "Reajo del Roble", with beautiful chalets.
I ignore why it´s abandoned, but it´s a sad sign of decadency.
In the background you can see Sierra de Guadarrama, or Madrid´s Sierra with three famous mountains, from left to right: Siete Picos, La Bola del Mundo and La Maliciosa, all of them with altitudes above 6500 feet, or 2000 meters. At the feet of the mountains, the village of Navacerrada, where we spend our free time whenever we have the chance, with the reservoir, currently with a capacity of only 37 per cent due to the severe drought.
As a fanatic of meteorology, I liked very much the towering Cumulonimbus rising over the mountains.

Este precioso chalet, bautizado como "Siete Picos" en honor a la cadena montañosa de los Siete Picos, que se aprecia al fondo, ha sido abandonado y, posteriormente, vandalizado, algo que lamentablemente suele ocurrir en España.
Me imagino el esplendor de esta casona cuando se construyó hace muchos años, en la época de esplendor de los años 70 u 80 en la Sierra de Madrid. De hecho, se encuentra en una bonita urbanización llamada "Reajo del Roble", con preciosos chalets.
Ignoro por qué está abandonada, pero es un triste síntoma de decadencia.
Al fondo se puede ver la Sierra de Guadarrama, o Sierra de Madrid con tres montañas famosas, de izquierda a derecha: Siete Picos, La Bola del Mundo y La Maliciosa, todas ellas con altitudes superiores a los 2000 metros. A los pies de la sierra, el pueblo de Navacerrada, donde pasamos nuestro tiempo libre siempre que tenemos ocasión, con el embalse, actualmente con una capacidad de sólo el 37 por ciento debido a la rigurosa sequía.
Como fanático de la meteorología, me gustaron mucho los imponentes Cumulonimbus que se elevaban sobre las montañas.

The Aqueduct of Segovia is a Roman aqueduct in Segovia, Spain. It is one of the best-preserved elevated Roman aqueducts and the foremost symbol of Segovia.
Its construction dates from the beginning of the 2nd century AC., at the end of the reign of Emperor Trajano or the beginning of Adriano.
It is built with granite ashlars seated without mortar between them.
I took this picture at midday, with no the best light conditions and heat, from the Parador of Segovia, located on a hill in front of the city of Segovia. I would have liked to take this picture during the blue hour, but unfortunately we couldn´t wait until dusk because it was very late and we had to drive back home for about 30 minutes. Sometimes you cannot be at the right place in the right moment. Well, next time, in another season, we´ll try it.

El Acueducto de Segovia, miles de años de historia, Segovia, Castilla y León, España
El Acueducto de Segovia es un acueducto romano en Segovia, España. Es uno de los acueductos romanos elevados mejor conservados y el principal símbolo de Segovia.
Su construcción data de principios del siglo II d. C., a finales del reinado del emperador Trajano o principios de Adriano.
Está construido con sillares de granito asentados sin argamasa entre ellos.
Esta foto la tomé a mediodía, sin las mejores condiciones de luz y con calor, desde el Parador de Segovia, situado en una colina frente a la ciudad de Segovia. Me hubiera gustado tomar esta foto durante la hora azul, pero lamentablemente no pudimos esperar hasta el anochecer porque era muy tarde y teníamos que conducir de regreso a casa durante unos 30 minutos. A veces no puedes estar en el lugar correcto en el momento adecuado. Bueno, la próxima vez, en otra temporada, lo intentaremos.

This beautiful and cozy cottage in the shore of Peninsula Lake was completely surrounded by the marvelous colors of Autumn. It took my attention because I felt ourselves living there in complete peace and serenity, listening to the sound of the leaves falling and witnessing the fascinating colorful spectacle provided by the Autumn season in this fabulous region.

Acogedora y coqueta cabaña en la orilla del Lago Peninsula, afueras de Huntsville, Muskoka, Ontario, Canadá
Esta hermosa y acogedora cabaña en la orilla del Lago Península estaba completamente rodeada de maravillosos colores. Me llamó la atención porque me sentí viviendo allí en completa paz y serenidad, escuchando el sonido de las hojas cayendo y presenciando el fascinante espectáculo colorido que brinda la temporada de Otoño en esta fabulosa región.
Como muchas casas rurales en Muskoka, tenía su propio embarcadero con las icónicas sillas Muskoka para observar la vida pasar sin prisas.

The waters of this small reservoir in La Barranca were really quiet, so we enjoyed beautiful reflections.
It was nice evening with few noises and a relax feeling really appreciable.

In these hot days that we begin to suffer in Madrid, seeing this photo of these waterfalls on the Navacerrada River now refreshes me and makes me feel more relaxed.
Photo taken in almost 10 seconds with my ND filter to emphasize the silky effect of the falling water.

Cascadas en el Río Navacerrada, Navacerrada, Parque Nacional de la Sierra de Guadarrama, Madrid, España
En estos días calurosos que empezamos a sufrir en Madrid, ver ahora esta foto de estas cascadas en el Río Navacerrada me refresca y me hace sentir más relajado.
