This photo is looking back at Manhattan if you know then you know

Taken with an iPhone 4S when I was in New York in 2012. This was before I even started pursuing photography, but luckily I found this shot a few years later.

La rotule de pied mal serrée et le boîtier qui pique du nez … Photo floue donc ratée ? Finalement l’effet est amusant et met bien en évidence la verticalité de cette ville.

This is a morning shot of lower Manhattan from Brooklyn overlooking the old pilings.

 

I took this further back than most people as I wanted to capture the two wide open spaces in the pilings – these voids reflect where the A & C Subway trains run between Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Hiking up the Millbrook Mountain Carriage Road, one encounters this large rock (6ft x 6ft) called Patterson's Pellet. It was deposited by a melting glacier thousands of years ago, and now sits at cliff's edge above a steep ravine called the Palmaghatt Ravine.
