Ghastly grim and ancient Raven wandering from the Nightly shore—
Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night’s Plutonian shore!”
Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”

A raven in Pinetop, AZ. I was always intrigued by the black feathers of a raven which can absorb light for heat or reflect it to cool off.
Common raven striking a pose.
Widely considered to be one of the most intelligent bird species, their cognitive skills come close to (or in some cases equal) that of primates. They can use tools to solve problems, can mimic "speech" of other species and even show deceptive behaviour to gain advantage over other ravens.
