Is it not a shame that the CPI(M) continues in the alliance with Jayalalithaa even as her Government is unleashing terrible repression on the Koodankulam struggle? .

The SFI-JNU is yet to visit POSCO -where the CPI, the parent party of their own ally AISF is a leading component of the struggle. It isAISAwhich has visited Jagatsinghpur and held demonstrations in Delhi supporting the anti-POSCO struggle. On the ground at POSCO, CPI(ML) too is part of the anti-POSCO struggle. Yet, SFI-JNU calls AISA 'sectarian'! .

Why did the SFI-JNtJ never even issue a statement on the horrific dalit atrocity at Ramgarh (Dadri)?Ofcourse, they neverbothered to visit Ramgarh, which is a short distance from Delhi! .

Those like SFI-JNU who hesitate even to take a stand in support of Koodankulam struggle or against nuclear energy and Operation Green Hunt and who for years defended SEZs and police firing on peasants and AFSPA {until electoral compulsions in JNU forced them to modify their stance} cannot fight the baWes for democracy. .

Most recently, DSU has remained tactically silent on CPM leader Biman Bose's obnoxious gender abuse. Clearlythey don't think it is their responsibility to build a democratic opinion against such gender abuse by the 'left front:chairperson! .

While AISA has always risen above sectarian political interests in the face of any administrative crackdown, standing for the democratic rights of the students in the campus, DSU has NEVER MISSED the opportunity ofvictimizing AISA activists. The campus has not forgotten that when a biased administrative enquiry was90ing on againsttwo AI SA comrades because they stood along with other students against an incident of sexual harassment in Periyar.

hostel, DSU grabbed the opportunity of political score-settling. No DSU activist was actually witness to the incident, but.

that did not stop OSU from spreading lies and slander. They named AISA activists in their pamphlets (including one AISAactivist who was not even present!), they falsely accused these activists ofviolence, thus strengthening the JNU administration. On August 18'h 2011, when SFI started a dangerous slander campaign againstAI SA activists, DSU maintained a tacticalsilence, while many other organizations came out with public statements against SFI's slander and in defence of JNU's.

democratic culture. DSU refused to sign a joint statement against SFI; neither did they bother to release their ownindividual statement cor.demning SFI. .

· · ·.

This sectarian attitude of DSU towards any broad-based democratic movement comes from the larger anarchist and.

militarist politics of the CPI(Maoist) whom they represent. Have.we EVER seen DSU campaigning and mobilizingagainst neo-liberal educational policies, against the proposed dangerous Land Rehabilitation and ResettlementBill, against the poverty line cut-off or against any other anti-people policy? This negative compulsion of findingpolitical existence only by criticizing AISA also comes from their inability tQ answer some political questions:.

Why is DSU silent on the corporate funding of the CPI(Maoist) in the so-called "liberat~d zones"? DSU isyet to utter a SINGLE WORD against the Maoists in Chhattisgarh for taking "protection money" from Essar inreturn for allowing corporate loot to continue! .

·.

DSU has ne_ver·dared to answer why the Maoists killed Dalits in Jamui, NREGA activist Neeyamat Ansari inJharkhand, ·ar· why the Maoists killed CPI(Ml) cadre in Paliganj (in Bihar) clearly at the behest of the then RJD MLA..

Neither have ever dared to reveal the nature ofthe "negotiations" the Maoists had with BJP in Jharkhand, as a result of .

which Maoist cadre shot dead CPI(ML). mass leader and MLA Comrade Mahendra Singh..

OSU is forced to remain silent when asked why the Maoists (after all brave talk of "election boycott") actually.

campaigned for and engineered electoral victories for right-wing forces like the Congress and Trinamool Congress.

in Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal..

= CPI(Mooist) spc!'· sp-afsons have gone to the extent of ~aying that Ma1 taB nerje:e i ti oe "i-deal' Chief Minister lor.

West Bengal -and their love for TMC is so strong that the Maoists actually betrayed PCPA in their alleged.

'stronghold' of Lalgarh. After having claimed undying support for the people.

's movement, they dropped.

PCPA leader Chhatradhar Mahato when he dared to stand against the TMC during the 2011 elections..

Instead, they supported the TMC candidate in Lalgarh! Of course, long before the _elections t_o?· t~e Maoists _had.

ruined the flourishing mass movement with huge people"s participation in Lalgarh by entenng 1t and g1v1ng 1t an exclusively.

militaristic focus.we DO NOT expect answers from DSU on these issues. Neither do we expect them to oppose YFE or other right-·wing forces in JNU or elsewhere. Throughout the summer. when the anti-corruption movement across the c~untry ~as.

gaining strength, it was AI SA that took the trouble to launch a long and to~gh campaign to exl?ose the role ofpnvat1zat1on.

and neo-liberal policies in the regime of corruption and corporate loot. Wh1le AISAwas campa1gn1ng, DSU qUI~tly watche.dfrom the sidelines. And what did the CPI(Maoist) do? Their spokesperson issued a _pr~ss release ha1llng people saspirations against corruption, and calling Anna Hazare a "pro-people Gan~t:ian and pa_tnot . Mao1st \deologue: Varavara.

R .

also hailed the anti-corruption movement and invited Anna Hazare to JOin the Mao1st movement. DSU. ~nven by 1ts.

bl~nd anti-AISAism, th n slowly woke up to launch a tirade againstAISA's anti-corruptio~ movement. They sa1d everyo_ne.

who participated in the anti-corruption campaign (including Prashant Shushan and SwamiAgn1vesh) was actually furthenng.

a right-wing RSS agenda -and of course when the same Prashant Bhushan was attacked by RSS goons they neverbothered to participate in a single protest..

Whether it is the QBC reservations issue, or the challenge to simultaneously o~pose Lyng~oh and. ~est_oreJNUSU elections, or to oppose corporate loot, DSU has NEVER bothered to_engag~m constru~ttve mobahzataon..

Has the student community ever seen or heard DSU doing any movement of any ktnd agamst Lyngdoh tn JNU or an~here.

in this country other than routine frenzied anti-AISA pamphleteering before UGB~~_?R~ghtnow, they ar~ eagerly wa1t1.
