One thing that doesn't cease to amaze me about SL is how long lasting relationships can form there. Kennedy here is one of my oldest friendships; close to 12 years now (I just checked!), pictured here between tattoo appointments.

She's been working on her 3D chops and has a budding brand called Lushly that can be found here!

Taken early one fine day. Monte Amiata is in the background.

OK.. I tried to place this on the map correctly, but it keeps on insisting it was taken in Lazio, which is crap! It was taken on the old road from Torrerieri to Pienza, most people know Pienza is in Tuscany NOT Lazio. Yahoo maps are obviously created by people who have never visited Tuscany.

...never stays in Vegas.

Now it's becoming a habit to include a video and description.

I needed to put something together for a Vegas theme at "work". I didn't have any feathers handy for that type of show girl look but I really liked this. I think it'll see more use!

Want the story for the video choice? I like the song, and someone knew it would end up here if I kept including videos lol. That's all I got!

I never noticed, until I took this photo, that the clothing company Lands' End has this motto: "SUSTAINABILITY". That's a lot to fit on a button, along with a lighthouse too! Do their clothes last? From my purchases: Yes!

"Birding is a three-dimensional pastime. It’s superior to, say, mushrooming, where the quarry is never higher than your shoelaces. And, of course, misidentifying a bird won’t kill you. Now, while all the mushroomers get busy writing angry op-eds, let me explain.

Birds fly. The sky’s the limit. One can’t go birding without looking up. The entire forest is stratified, from the treetop warblers to the ground foraging turkeys. And in the middle: thrushes.

Members of the thrush family spend much of their time on or near the ground. They forage on foot.

Males on territory might sing from a treetop, but they are often content to croon from a lower branch in the canopy. Birders sometimes complain about “warbler neck,” the pain that comes from looking high into the trees. Nobody complains about thrush neck.

Robins and bluebirds are thrushes. They’re easy to tell apart. The rest? Not so much. All the medium-sized thrushes are various shades of brown, with whitish, spotted breasts. So when walking in the woods, identification becomes easier if you start with a default bird: everything is a hermit thrush, unless it isn’t.

The hermit thrush is the most common and widespread thrush in Maine. It is comfortable in the understory of both hardwood and softwood trees. It forages through the leaf litter on the ground. When surprised, it may fly to a nearby branch where it can look you over and assess the threat, perhaps raising its tail or wiggling its wings. In other words, it’s easy. Its reddish tail contrasts with its brown body, confirming the identification at a glance. The whitish breast is lightly spotted.

Hermit thrushes don’t go far in winter. Most stay in the states. Some are even found on Christmas bird counts in Maine. They are the earliest of the brown thrushes to return, and start singing in late April.

Like their cousins, the song is an ethereal, flute-like melody, rising and falling. "

The water brought her some wind, or was that usually something that happened the other way around? The wind brought the water closer?

It was a typical game of tug and war after all. She rushed with the wind, soared with the flow of the stream and danced with the flowers. Only a moment was needed for her to zone out with the sweet scent of peace. Just a few seconds with no worries, no fears and no hopes.

The magical one glided near her slowly, taking the time to share in her moment. Nine fluffy tails gently caressing her form in a light hug of comfort. A silly fox, this magical one. Silently appearing in the times when it matters most.

"You think he will love these?" she asked, opening her eyes to show him the tiny daisies. He whistled in response, total approval, doing a daring tumbling glide with the wind. Of course he will, only because her special someone knew she thought about him when she picked it.

She would never forget him...never.

An hour and 45 minutes after sunset. Weak Northern lights - active and dancing but very faintly visible during blue hour’s moonlit sky. Patiently waiting for blue hour to fade into dark.

And men knew nightlong: in the clear lovely morning he will be there,

not to be pulled down from his landscape, never from his people's hearts.

You’re bare foot or in boots. It’s “Never To Wet” when the rain stops to grab your camera and take your photos, The end product will prove to you that it was all worth the effort. Oh, yes I still got wet. This photo was taken shortly after a rain storm. The air was clean. It was a little cool from the rain. Thanks for stopping by to visit my work. Gratitude and Kindness will accompany you every step of the way.

This is one of those shots that I just have stuck in my head. This is the second time I went back to shoot this... and I'm really not done with it. There is something that I really love about this scene, but I still haven't captured what I want... and I kind of like it when that happens... it's like a project that just goes on and on until you finally get it right... and ... now I have time...

A very surreal and a little bit scary moment when yesterday at work... they told us to go home and that we would get paid for the next 8 weeks. Go home? Get paid? 8 weeks? Geez... I have waited all my working life to hear those words, and I will admit I tried NOT to skip as I headed out to my car, but yet, it's scary. I know I have so many things to do at home, and being by myself has never been much of a problem for me ( as my co-workers always said about me... "Torrie doesn't like people." Not exactly true, but I am fine by myself, too) But the prospect of getting sick or hearing about others get sick really whips a damper on that whole 8 weeks thing. But, I will do my best to stay healthy and stay busy.

I also have the time that I have always wanted to do ALL of those things that I keep whining and making excuses that I don't have time to do. So, today is DAY 1... I'll be making a list... and on that list... will be going back to this spot... again... and again.

Please stay well out there!!

Never mind that the video is black and white, the audio is silent, and the screen flickers like a bad horror movie. Rules say "bolts or other items without the matching socket will be removed"—but what about perfectly fitting connections that refuse to work?

This SCART-to-RCA adapter is a shining example of deception—it plugs in smoothly, yet the signals inside are having an existential crisis. The video signal screams in RGB, but the TV only understands composite, leaving us with a washed-out mess. The audio sits quietly, confused and alone, wondering why it wasn’t invited to the party.

But hey, it fits, so it stays! Even if it means your movie looks like a ghost story filmed in 1925.

HMAM😊😊😍

With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating and stay safe! ❤️❤️❤️

Fallen Angel

Song by Three Days Grace

Lyrics

Late at night I could hear the crying

I hear it all, trying to fall asleep

When all the love around you is dying

How do you stay so strong?

How did you hide it all for so long?

How can I take the pain away?

How can I save

A fallen angel, in the dark

Never thought you'd fall so far

Fallen angel, close your eyes

I won't let you fall tonight

Fallen angel

You do it all for my own protection

You make me feel like I'll be okay

Still I have so many questions

How do you stay so strong?

How did you hide it all for so long?

How can I take the pain away?

How can I save,

A fallen angel, in the dark

Never thought you'd fall so far

Fallen angel, close your eyes

I won't let you fall tonight

Fallen angel, just let go

You don't have to be alone

Fallen angel, close your eyes

I won't let you fall tonight

I was right beside you

When you went to hell and back again

I was right beside you

When you went to hell and back again

And I, I couldn't save, a fallen angel

A fallen angel, in the dark

Never thought you'd fall so far

Fallen angel, close your eyes

I won't let you fall tonight

Fallen angel, just let go

You don't have to be alone

Fallen angel, close your eyes

I won't let you fall tonight

Fallen angel

A harrier hawk (?) soars above farmlands on the lee side of Mt Taranaki. Given the forecast of rain I was keen to get a shot of the mountain as we approached from the south. It took a few detours down random rural roads but it was lucky we did. A little further on as we rounded the windward side, the cloud was at ground level and the mountain totally obscured.

I found this field of cotton to be so beautiful. I had never seen cotton growing up close like this before. This field was ready for harvesting as every pod had burst open into 4 quadrants of softness.

I am looking back today. It is the 8th anniversary of my father's passing and it feels like just yesterday. I love and miss him more than ever. Please spend time with those you love.

Take care.

Saw this yesterday afternoon and I must say I have never seen clouds in this wavy pattern before. If you look at it from a surrealistic perspective, please tell me what YOU see.

Just one day , ...Remembrance Sunday, ....is not enough to justify this...

Every day of the year we should remember..............and be thankful.

That is why I put this on early....Never forget!

A Crane ( sorry I meant to say Great Blue Heron), in the water at Diaz Lake, at sunrise, one morning while we were camping. He took off right arter this but I never got a good shot of him in flight.

"The dandelion does not stop blooming because it is told it is a weed. It says 'One day, they'll be making wishes upon me'".

Dandelions are often considered weeds, but they can also symbolize hope, strength, and transformation. People blow on dandelion seeds to make wishes, and some believe that the seeds carry thoughts and dreams to loved ones. Never stop blooming♥
