Went on one of my longer walks round Bewl Water 14 miles about. The weather was kind and there was so much to see so lots of images today

I've kept these secret for a few weeks, but now am photographing and listing them online. I also have them with different colors of pearls and carnelian :-)

This is the inside of a set of Russian Nesting Dolls. It is wooden but looks like terra cotta in the picture.

two years later, a finished set of nesting boxes... no longer appropriate for the 18-month old, but perfect for visiting 7-month old girls!

Back to Rondeau Park. Besides all the migrating birds, the trees of this carolinian forest offer great photo opportunities. This nesting mourning dove sat quietly high up in a sycamore tree.

We visited Rondeau Provincial Park for three days for the spring migration and it was wondeful. The weather was better than last year, as in not cyclonic. It is a great place to take a bike as the park is a flat spit that stretches along the north shore of Lake Erie. There are lots of trails and boardwalks and a variety of habitats ranging from sandy beach to carolinian forest to scrub, tall grass savannah, and wetlands. Hence the abundance of migrating species and all the new growth in and around the forest.

A Nesting Swan along the cut to Geldeston, the male swan likes to see off every boat that passes, which can be rather intimidating for canoeists!

I made a set of nesting boxes for BCO craft swap project. I designed patterns and printed them on colored papers which I used to cover the lids. Used chipboard under the printed papers for the tops, and used mat board for the bottoms. I cut strips of kraft paper and glued them over all seams, inside and out, for extra strength and neatness.

While in Roatan we spotted this little Hummer sitting on her nest . It is the first nesting hummer we have seen We didnt want to get to close and disturb her. We couldnt get to the other side of her there was a cliff with a pretty sharp slope.

One of the nesting boxes set up for the Purple Martins at Chambers Creek Properties has not held up well.

6/9/15: In case anyone wants to pursue pictures of our Purple Martins, I feel like I need to provide a quick warning. The Bridge to the Beach is currently closed. I reached the nesting area via an inflatable kayak. From June 14-22, even boat access will be prohibited.

a bit run down, but still a place to call a nest

This beautiful Great Egret takes care of her baby and still, has time to take care of herself.

My husband remembered me swooning over these Starbucks nesting cups...this morning I opened the cupboard to make some tea and this is what I found!

From our bed we have a view of neglected woodland which is a wonderful source of nesting material for the local birds. We have often seen magpies tugging small branches out of the tangle of vegetation out there, but this morning I was thrilled to see Mr & Mrs Bullfinch scavenging. Here is Mrs, but I didn't manage to catch her with her slender twiglet in her beak.

that's putin, and yeltsin, and GORBACHEV!

The river from Littledoe Lake to Tom Thompson Lake at Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. Spent 1/2 hour just chilling in my kayak and snapping away. I was slow enough in my movements to keep them relaxed. Enough so, that I was able to get within 10 feet of both the hatchling on dad's back and mom sitting on at least one yet to hatch egg. Truly wonderful experience.

This is the time of year when Oropendolas build their long hanging-basket nests in the trees. I flock picks out a suitable tree, in this case a Corotu tree and there can be as many as 40-50 nests in one tree.

As you can see these are large brightly colored birds, almost cartoonish in their contrasting colors.

This set of nesting envelopes was a custom request for someone who saw one of my Tiny Envelopes ( www.etsy.com/view_item.php?listing_id=259342 ).

He wanted to know if it was mailable, because he thought it would be cute to send a tiny love note to his girlfriend. (The answer is no -- Tiny Envelopes are too small to mail. The minumum letter size is 3.5 x 5" to mail via USPS).

This was his solution: A set of progressively smaller envelopes, nested inside one another, with a tiny note inside the smallest one.

Smallest envelope is 2-inches square.

Laregest envelope is 5.75 x 4.25 inches.
