A pair of Ospreys on a nesting platform in Squantum marshes. Bit of a naff image, as even at 300mm I was really too far away.
There are two of these birds nesting under my deck. I do not know if there are 1 or two chicks in their nest. It is hollering right now.

I made a set of nesting boxes for BCO craft swap project. I designed patterns and printed them on colored papers which I used to cover the lids. Used chipboard under the printed papers for the tops, and used mat board for the bottoms. I cut strips of kraft paper and glued them over all seams, inside and out, for extra strength and neatness.
All morning, the local tits had been checking out the nesting box outside our kitchen window. To get a photo without scaring the birds off, I set up my Canon S50 compact camera on a tripod, then used the camera's built in intervalometer to take one shot per minute and let it run automatically until the card was full.
Of the 100-odd shots taken, only four had birds on. I'll try the same set-up tomorrow, and see what I get.
This is the Common Loon. It is Minnesota's State Bird. This I'm guessing, is a nesting Female. Her boyfriend was swimming around nearby. I don't think she has given birth yet. Usually, they lay thier eggs in early June.
They are really cool looking birds!
Cliff swallows nesting in Imperial Beach. Several of the apartment buildings in the area were covered in nests like these. I'm glad the owners and tenants don't mind them as many people seem to wage wars against swallows nowadays.

I really don't know what to call this. It's just wooden slats on an abandoned box car. One is broken out leaving splintered ends. The void left there was a convenient place for a wasp to do a little construction.

Nesting Pair of Bald Eagles along Norfork Lake near Mountain Home Arkansas. UPDATE: This eagle's nest was destroyed in the ice storm of January 2009. The eagles have rebuilt their nest in another location, but I haven't seen the new one yet.

The trumpeter swans at the Kansas City Zoo started nesting a couple of weeks ago. No eggs yet, alas.

We put up this box last Autumn. The Blue Tits had previously nested in the cavity wall, (entering through a small hole near an overflow pipe) When we had cavity wall insulation decided that alternative accomodation was required, seems it may be considered suitable!

Our yellow Lab is shedding her winter coat, so we decided to put her hair into a suet holder for the birds to use in their nest. The House Finch’s are the first to grab it and carry it off to their nesting site.

I never get tired of the Spotted Towhees, announcing vigorously thier territories. We have one or more pairs nesting nearby, and I expect to see some juveniles soon.
