Not that I've ever been in this shop. but "Nerd Wednesday" refers to the fact that all the new comic books for the week come in on Wednesday, making it the busiest day of the week at most comic book shops in the U.S.

Eila ha decidido que ya no quiere ser mas la fantasmita que era para convertirse definitivamente en una friki de cuidado. Pero no una friki de esas que leen manga y ven cine conceptual… Ella es una friki entera y verdadera, de esas que ve todos los años sin falta la saga de Star Wars e Indiana Jones, de las que se sabe todos los fallos de racor que tienen sus pelÃculas favoritas y los diálogos enteros, de esas que va convenciones de Star Trek vestida de Capital Spock! De las que no la importa un pimiento combinar su ropa bien y llevar unas zapatillas rojas con una camiseta rosa y un peto a cuadros! En fin… ella es asà y hay que quererla igual xDDD
you had nerds??? I forgot how much i loved this candy. I bought them at the movies tonight for day two of the festival of european cinema. They aren't very good movie food though--it was like I had brought it one of those noisemakers they use at sporting events. The ladies besides me were seriously annoyed....I felt bad, but not bad enough to stop eating them! They were just as good and tart as I remembered. My friend Esa from Finland, said they taste so artificial and I was like of course they do! What candy tastes like real fruit? especially tiny, brightly colored pellets. It made me wonder though what the candy he grew up tasted like. Actually, I know. Once I tried some of this super potent licorice candy from finland. It didn't taste artificial--that is for sure. It didn't taste good either though. I actually spit it out. Its flavor was so strong--it tasted poisonous almost. Don't tell him I said that.
Thanks so much to the organizers, volunteers and sponsors of Nerd Camp this year! I had an amazing time and it was wonderful catching up with old friends and making new ones. These are some of the photos I took during the event, mainly of people I met rather than the talks (I often had trouble getting into the latter since the rooms were often super-packed, so I left it to others to take better pics :-).
