Yesterday I took this shot of my little nephew trying to focus on this beautiful butterfly,
He is only 6 years old and following his brothers footsteps,
Please view large, original is better.
When standing on Johnston's Ridge it's sometimes tough to take your eyes off of the maw that is the North face of Mount Saint Helens, I mean you are really looking down its throat from there, what David was thinking I'll never know. However, if you can tear your eyes away and look to the West the view is spectacular as well, especially just before sunrise with the pink super moon looking, well, pink. :)
On FB my nephew wrote on this and said that I take phenomenal photo's to which I replied that a better photographer would have raised the ISO and got a faster shutter speed to get details in the moon, I didn't even think of it at the time.... :) oh well, next time.
A place I've visited and known all my life.
Henry Yates Thompson was the eldest son of an important banking family from Liverpool and the great nephew of the founder of Princes Park. In 1896 he gifted £10,000 to the city to fund the construction of the Palm House.
My littlest nephew on one of our adventures - he was initially a bit scared of the 'see through' stairs but we got there in the end.
Secret number fourteen:
I have a lot to be thankful for.
It's true. I have a fibroadenoma, not breast cancer. I may not have children of my own, but I have nieces and nephews that I love as if they were mine. I may not have a significant other, but I know I am loved. I may not be in the best shape of my life, but I can still walk. I may not be wealthy, but I have the greatest job and work with the best people. And lastly, I have "met" some of the most amazing people ever right here on Flickr. Thank you.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I know I sure did.
This is my nephew, Michael
He is always asking me to take photos of him so I figured I might as well post some of them somewhere.
It's so hard to get him to stay still!
He just got those footy pajamas for Christmas, he refuses to take them off haha
This is actually my great nephew who refuses to pose for any photos and is a whirl wind of energy. He is adorable and I finally caught him watching his granddad, my brother, for some advice. BTW, all of the children in our family start out as blonds.
Mason is my nephew from my brother
he is 8 months old now<3
Him and Jake are the only good things to happen to me this year, true story.
Unlike the light-brownish eyes that my family has, my nephew got his eye color from his father, my bro-in-law. They're so dark & beautiful, and seem to be able to reflect one's soul. In his eyes, I see innocence & joy, and they just bring me smiles. Oh yeah, you can tell that I'm a proud uncle!...LOL...:-)

Your pain and agony is over but there are no words to describe the grief and sadness of the loved ones you left behind...
In memory of my nephew, Aljie Bautista, who passed away 4 hours ago.

Little photoshop fun with two captures I have taken. One here is of my nephew who is graduating soon so I was asked to take some photos of him. We took some shots on the pier in Middle River.
I then took one of the osprey shots I recently captured and cropped it into the shot. The little direction was the same and seemed to work well.
As it was, we did see two osprey that morning when taking the shots on the pier ... they were just far out over the river ... and I did not have the long lens with me anyway.
