The third phase of local election is being conducted today at all 8 districts in Province No.2, Nepal. Approx 14million voters are casting vote today whereas Parsa district holds the highest number of voters among these 8 districts. As Birgunj is a metropolitan city, the most number of ballot holder will be elected as the Mayor, representing Birgunj Metropolitan City, Deputy Mayor, Ward Chairman & 4 ward members.The counting of the votes will undergo from tomorrow onward.

Local Election Nepal: A joyful election environment and people around at the streets of Birgunj is seen for the upcoming local election going to be held on asoj 2. People here in Birgunj (the only metropolitan city in province no.2) are actively participating on this moment of election, on the nomination day, respective party candidates showed their active promotion of their party. Registration for the nomination for 1 metropolitan, 3 sub-metropolitan & 10 VDCs for parsa district is completed.

I am son of a Crocker. I am 8 years old. My father works very hard and make potteries with clay.
I am from Surjaha VDC which lies in Parsa district. My father is making potteries from last 10 years. He comes birgunj every year before 1 week of Diwali and returns back after Chhat festival which is one of the biggest festival of tarai. He earns 700 to 1000 rupees per day during his visit to Birgunj. This is first time i came with my father to help him as i am growing old said little Bickey Prajapati.

There is no any temple of goddess Chhathimai but people have great faith & believe on her so they make symbolic muddy temple on the occasion of Chhath Puja.

Like every year young kids celebrate deepawali by lightening fire crackers and rockets in spite of warnings given by police but still this is not stopped and considered as a part of our culture. 2074 Shrawan month was one of tragedy period for rural people in parsa district. As every year, the raining was continued but no one had imagined this year, the massive raining would bring flood to rural VDCs in such way. The continued raining drawn so many villages of parsa district and life style of rural people turned from general to tragic. They kept facing the lack of places where they could feel safe, could look after their family, could cook something to eat and could sleep fearlessly.
