The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District hosted a series of public scoping meetings to gather feedback from citizens, stakeholders, state and local governments and agencies on the proposed Glades Reservoir project. The meetings were held March 20, 21 and 22, 2012 in Gainesville, Ga., Auburn, Ala., and Eastpoint, Fla.
The Corps of Engineers is evaluating a permit application submitted by Hall County, Ga., for the construction and operation of an 850-acre flow augmentation reservoir and associated pipelines and facilities. The reservoir is proposed to be located on Flat Creek, a tributary to the Chattahoochee River upstream of Lake Sidney Lanier.
The Corps of Engineers is working with contractor AECOM to prepare and Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed project in order to make an informed permit decision. The scoping meetings were a critical first step to identify key issues and concerns to help the Corps narrow the scope of the EIS. The EIS will analyze social, economic and environmental impacts of the proposed project, including downstream effects, water quality and quantity, impacts to wetlands, endangered species, cultural resources, alternatives, and more. The public will have an opportunity to comment on the draft EIS and final EIS documents as part of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process. We went up to NEPA to visit family & friends, eat regional food favorites and visit some special locations to us. Also brought our pup, Rose along with us for her very first Out-of-State Adventure!
The 2nd full day of our NEPA Trip. First thing in the morning was a stop at Lowe's for some tools and work gloves for the Trail Maintenance Event at BMR Nature Trails It's in honor of Adam Onzik (hosted by his parents: Ed & Maryanne Onzik).
Afterwards, my Sister and I stopped at Hillside Farms Ice Cream Parlor for Ice cream, Sherbert and a Milkshake.
In the evening, Beth & I popped over to Market 32 by Price Chopper in Edwardsville to take a look around. As we left the supermarket, we were treated to a Fireworks display nearby!

네파(Nepa)는 2009년 슈퍼모델선발대회 지원자들과 함께하는 '네파 1일 산행교실'을 2009년 8월 18일 도봉산에서 개최했다. 암벽등반 체험으로 진행된 산행교실은 하강과 슬랩 등반을 위주로 진행됐으며, 네파 클라이밍팀 직원들이 진행과 교육을 전담했다. 등반 경험이 전무한 모델들을 포함한 전체 참가자들이 네파 강사들의 숙련된 진행을 통해 한 명의 부상자도 없이 무사히 1일 체험 산행을 마쳤다. 네파는 이번 행사에 참가한 2009 슈퍼모델 지원자들에게 모자, 셔츠, 팬츠, 신발 등 의류 일체와 등산용 배낭을 지급했다. 슈퍼모델들의 이색 산행체험 현장은 Sbs 슈퍼모델 본선대회 생방송에 '네파 가을컬렉션 패션쇼'와 함께 방영됐다.
