Similar to our setup in New York, with the workspace at one end. This apartment offered us a bit more space.

The pictures on the floor beneath the One-Color Subway Map are mostly there because we ran out of wall space, but we think they actually work just propped up there.

One of these days we'll buy a rug.

The platform bench is whatever you need it to be. A bench, for seating. A platform, for displaying objects, plants, your MP3 dock. A low table, for magazines, books, a bowl of fruit. Place two together to make a coffee table.

Finding a new piece to hold the media center is one of our next objectives. I've been lugging the IKEA Lack around since 2001; it's been from Dearborn to Hamtramck to Ferndale to New York to San Francisco and is about to be on its way back to Michigan.
