*My very talented MIL (mother in law) made her clothes. Adorable! I'm wearing a similar outfit in slightly different shades of red and green.

Steve's step-grandma gave us this awesome bench. We are pretty sure its a fake nelson bench, but even if it is, it's an antique fake. Almost antique, I guess it has to be 100 years old to be considered an antique and this is probably about 50. I don't care if it's a fake. I love it.

The wall shelf hardware is Elfa, from the Container Store, and quite easy to install. The actual shelves are IKEA because we didn't like the veneer options from C.S. We had to do a little customization to make them work with the Elfa hardware but it was worth it.

Similar to our setup in New York, with the workspace at one end. This apartment offered us a bit more space.

The pictures on the floor beneath the One-Color Subway Map are mostly there because we ran out of wall space, but we think they actually work just propped up there.

One of these days we'll buy a rug.

The platform bench is whatever you need it to be. A bench, for seating. A platform, for displaying objects, plants, your MP3 dock. A low table, for magazines, books, a bowl of fruit. Place two together to make a coffee table.

Finding a new piece to hold the media center is one of our next objectives. I've been lugging the IKEA Lack around since 2001; it's been from Dearborn to Hamtramck to Ferndale to New York to San Francisco and is about to be on its way back to Michigan.
