The Nehru Park can accessible with the help of motor water boats. The Ram Pratap Palace, a residential place of the royal families is also situated on the banks of Fateh Sagar. The Fateh Sagar is connected to Pichola Lake and Rang Sagar Lake by a water canal. Inviting Guests over a Poppilicious Spread!

Poppies have long been used as a symbol of both sleep and death: sleep because of the opium extracted from them, and death because of their (commonly) blood-red color.

Udaipur, the capital of the former princly state of Mewar is a beautiful city in Rajasthan, India famous for its lakes and palaces which in centuries past served as the homes of royalty. A current tourist favorite, especially for up-market Westerners, it was a backdrop for numerous movies including the James Bond flick "Octopussy".

Udaipur is referred to as the "Venice of the East", the "Most Romantic City of India" and the "Kashmir of Rajasthan" (a reference to Dal Lake) and not without reason. Tourists flock to this enchanting old & modern town in the heart of the Aravalli Mountains. It has a rich history. Visitors swear by the romantic sunsets in the backdrop of its lakes.

There are three interconnected lakes within the town - the Fateh Sagar Lake, the Pichhola Lake and the smaller Swaroop Sagar Lake. Pichhola is home to one of the most romantic hotels of the world, the Lake Palace Hotel. Nehru Island Garden

Nehru garden is beautifully developed by PWd and is located in the island of Fateh sagar Lake. Boating facility is available to get in the park.

This oval shaped island garden is situated amidst the Fateh Sagar Lake. In order to reach this romantic garden, you have to take a boat ride in the lake. The lush green garden with its water fountains, flower gardens and a lily pond offers truly an eye-soothing view for any observer. The garden also comprises a restaurant where you can enjoy the lip-smacking dishes along with the scenery of green Aravalli hills.

I am somehow not completely convinced on how the blur has played in the background. Maybe a closer crop might look better.

Have a great week ahead, friends.

Listen to the wind...

This goes out for all the innocent victims of the tragic earthquake in Abruzzo region of ITALY that left over 250 dead and 30,000 homeless across 26 towns. May the deceased rest in peace, and the survivors gather strength to sail through the emotional & material loss. Amen.

Let us stop for a moment and be grateful for the life we have been gifted with.

(No major post-processing here, except for slight tweaking of the focus and exposure)

Hee, doesn't this look just magical? ^^ I've just been gifted a Flickr pro account (still thinking of a nice way to say thank you :| ) and I'm doing my best to live up to it!

This was my first real shoot with a model (other than practicing on available people) , a collab with my best friend for a "levitation" series. Critique welcome! :)

In India, too, Spring is a beautiful period when the wintery sun begins to turn warm and the days get longer, not to mention the flowers blooming in full splendour. The entire ambience blooms in beauty. The nature around is bedazzled with the colours and fragrance. Though the Full blown spring freshness stays for a very short span of time, it brings newness to the surroundings. The entire atmosphere becomes bouncy.

Here is shot of a tree laden with pink flowers.

Here are two more cards I found for my collection of this wonderful monument I played on when I lived in Bombay as a little boy. The Air-India Boeing 707 was in Juhu Garden, Nehru Park. It stood until 2010 (or so), when due to neglect a piece fell off, killing a young boy. The "Juhu Aeroplane" was replaced with a modern version.
