I wanted to snap a few quick shots of this before shipping it off to Tweet Design's Third Annual Day of The Dead show at Young Blood Gallery (youngbloodgallery.com) in Atlanta. The show runs from October 30 until November 27 and I wish I could make it down because it is a group show that always gets some great work.

Espectrostatic - S/T - LP Front (Trouble in Mind, 2013)
I've been a longtime fan of Alex Cuervo's projects (HEX DISPENSERS, BLACKTOP, FEAST OF SNAKES), so when he hit me up to do some design work I couldn't have been happier to oblige.
My goal here was to compliment his sound (which owes "a serious debt to the pioneers of late 70s horror soundtracks like John Carpenter, Italo-prog masters Goblin & the work of German pioneers Tangerine Dream"), so what we have here is something along the lines of "Omni magazine having a nightmare in 1981".
To that end, I also directed an accompanying music video for the song "Consulting the Necronauts" which you can check out here: vimeo.com/70323873

O Festival Internacional de Quadrinhos (FIQ), evento promovido pela Fundação Municipal de Cultura, terá em sua oitava edição um dos principais quadrinistas do Brasil, Danilo Beyruth, responsável por títulos como “Necronauta” e “Astronauta – Magnetar”. O 8º FIQ acontece na Serraria Souza Pinto, no bairro Floresta, em Belo Horizonte, entre 13 e 17 de novembro e tem o cartunista Laerte como grande homenageado. Comment: "An outline for a story: Artist spends hundreds of hours over many years swimming in the vast and ancient eddies of existence, hoping to discover mystic correspondences from the other side. Nothing happens. The artist builds installations to open people's minds by showing them what she does everyday. She becomes successful perhaps because the Outside is no longer, usurped by modernity's dissolving boundaries. The Inside (the inner life) is the new frontier in art. Artist continues to use oracular devices in the form of diagrams to open her mind. One day, a leak appears in her mind, one that connects her to the 'other' side. The vast unknown has returned her call and in the same shapes and forms she had been transmitting to it for years. The artist frantically scribbles her thoughts down, relieved and breath-taken at the same time. She compiles her work and exhibits it. Each drawing, each diagram a message from the unknown and proof of its existence. Work of enormous importance to her and mankind in general. Unfortunately, no one can relate. People shun it.
