Deep in Demetrescu's Manor hides a young sorceress with an affinity for necromancy... 🔮

Ah, Necromancy Sweet!
Ah, Wizard erudite!
Teach me the skill,
That I instill the pain
Surgeons assuage in vain,
Nor Herb of all the plain
Can Heal!
Emily Dickinson, poem (177)
passing like ghosts
through sleepy little towns
our faces shocking
and pale
our motives wane
and grasping
seeking out
the undefined
cure for pain
gnawing on the bones
of the extinct
through this
land with no answer
roads run ashen
on and on
across tired earth
counting the faded yellow
dashes
a meaningless message
T...T...T...T...
inviting
a new madness
nothing on the radio
but the soundtrack
to our long daze
of destruction
hey dad
can we stop
and see
the world's largest
frying pan
?

While the Warlock is powerful, his power is not truly his own. He relies upon the dark arts of necromancy to gain the power of the witches and wizards who have already passed to the next realm. Here he leads his ghostly benefactor deeper into his sanctum.

From the earth we will return
An inevitable fate
The undeniable truth
The paragon of life
Return to the earth
I shut my eyes and the world drops dead
I lift my head and all is born again
From the moment of destruction
We will create ourselves
From the moment of darkness
We will find a new light
I shut my eyes and the world drops dead
I lift my head and all is born again
Breathe life into the ashes
Cleanse us of our actions
The earth will quake if just for a moment
The rivers will run dry by the mire
Embers left in the wake of the lightning
And new life will be born in fire
Bursting into flames
Burning in disdain
Ash to ash
Dust to dust
Turning in the grave
Returning to reclaim
My hollow hideous soul
Fall to the earth like black snow
Envelope my withered bones
Emerging from the cinders
But I'll be back again
When everything is withered
I'll draw my final breath
And shut my eyes as the world drops dead
Then lift my head and all is born again
Breathe life into the ashes
Cleanse us of our actions
Breathe life into the ashes
The earth will quake if just for a moment
The rivers will run dry by the mire
Embers left in the wake of the lightning
And new life will be born in fire
Bursting into flames
Burning in disdain
Ash to ash
Dust to dust
Turning in the grave
Returning to reclaim
My hollow hideous soul
Fall to the earth like black snow
Envelope my withered bones
Ash to ash
Dust to dust
Fall to the earth like black snow
Bursting into flames
Burning in disdain
Ash to ash
Dust to dust
Turning in the grave
Returning to reclaim
My hollow hideous soul
Fall to the earth like black snow
Envelope my withered bones
I am a hideous soul

Gi as Hecate or Hekate (/ˈhɛkətiː/; Ancient Greek: Ἑκάτη, Hekátē) the goddess of magic, most often shown holding a pair of torches or a key and in later periods depicted in triple form (mother, maiden, crone). She is variously associated with crossroads, entrance-ways, light, witchcraft, knowledge of herbs and poisonous plants, ghosts, necromancy, and sorcery. She holds the keys to the underworld, mysteries, transitions, & tranformations. She's the keeper of wisdom + the unconcious mind.
Gi holds the keys to all things seen + unseen under the moonlit sky above...❤️

I am possibly going to mention something about Saint John the Baptist, Salome, at least one Herod, Orpheus, Brân the Blessed and Baphomet if I can edit my notes. Til then here is what I have.
The lights went out, the depth of darkness opened wide and then the lights were reignited and the world whirled waling into nothing, blossomed into something and flowered into everything...
Yester Castle, home of Sir Hugo de Giffard, also Jiffard, a 13th-century Scottish Baron. He is remembered in legend as the, “Wizard of Yester.” Yester Castle was built around 1267 with Sir Hugo acting like a diabolical King Solomon and calling spirits to build his stone works for him. If instead of the diabolical focus Sir Hugo was more inline with the God of Solomon then his demons may have been a gift labour source for his good works. Some have said that he was in pact with the devil and that his source of amazing conjuring deeds was all infernal. His fortification is noted as being assembled by an army of hobgoblins. The best remains of the castle ruins are named as either Bohall, or Hobgoblin Hall, also The Goblin Ha’. This Goblin Hall may have constructed by a workforce keen to protect their stone crafting secrets and possibly also French in origin. The language barrier and insular ways could have given rise to the workers been seen as demons doing Sir Hugo’s bidding. Bohall as an Irish name is said to derive from, “baigell,” which meant, “having profitable pledges,” Sir Hugo seems to have been the embodiment of someone that is noted as having prospered by having profitable pledges. Most likely because it still stands as the only roofed section of Yester Castle it is suggested that the Goblin Ha’ is where Sir Hugo practised dark arts such as necromancy. The Hall is even stated to have an entrance to Hell. The design of the structure that still exists gives much clearer indication of the Hall as the place to bring in animals at times of siege and to have above the animal section floors for two legged occupation with the lowest section being a vital access to water and not an entrance to the underworlds. Magic often features in Legend in ways that quickly come undone if you look closely at the weave of Folklore, as that which is seen as superb for stories is not the best factual material for histories.
I hope that Sir Hugo being of either Giffard, or Jiffard has no overbearing influence on the Giff versus Jiff debate? That is usually the .gif versus the .jif at least in pronunciation.

We just had a blast. This was from an obsession with a gatcha at The Arcade.
This is Yester Castle darkly, dimly and dramatically figured. It was the stronghold and home of Sir Hugo de Giffard, also Jiffard, a 13th-century Scottish Baron. He is remembered in legend as the, “Wizard of Yester.” Yester Castle was built around 1267 with Sir Hugo acting like a diabolical King Solomon and calling spirits to build his stone works for him. Magic often features in Legend in ways that can quickly come undone if you look closely at the weave of Folklore, and investigate into the weft as that which is seen as superb for enchanting stories is not the best factual material for histories.

The Hoopoes have dramatic black and white wing patterns (the patterns vary between the species) that show in flight.
Their habitat is open cultivated ground with short grass or bare patches. They spend much time on the ground hunting insects and worms. That diet may have been among the reasons the Hoopoe is included on the Old Testament's list of unclean birds (see Leviticus 11:19 and Deuteronomy 14:18).
The Hoopoe is 25–29cm long, with a 44–48cm wingspan. This black, white and pink bird is quite unmistakable, especially in its erratic flight, which is like that of a giant butterfly. The crest is erectile, but is mostly kept closed. It walks on the ground like a starling.
The song is a trisyllabic "oop-oop-oop", which gives rise to its English and scientific names.
Hoopoes in human culture
* The Hoopoe featured in Greek mythology. Once a man, Tereus was transformed into the form of a Hoopoe. The character featured prominently in Aristophanes' Birds.
* In Islam, the Hoopoe is associated with King Solomon who spoke with animals, ( in Arabic the Prophet Suleyman ) and he tells him of the Queen of Sheba and her magnificent land. Quran 27:20-28.
* In classical Chinese poetry, the Hoopoe is depicted as a celestial messenger often bearing news of the spring. The Hoopoe is generally considered auspicious in China thanks to its unique beauty.
* On the other hand, the word "dupe" was originally a French dialect word for a Hoopoe, which was applied to unintelligent people because the bird was considered to look stupid.
* A hoopoe figures centrally in The Conference of the Birds, one of the central works of Sufi literature.
* Hoopoes and their blood are often-called-for instruments in many medieval Western magical practices, often associated with various kinds of divination and necromancy.
* Hoopoes are featured in some Medieval Bestiaries, where they are claimed to care for their parents when they get old.
These beautiful birds are very rare and only exist in the remote corners of Bangladesh few in numbers.

Leonardo da Vinci (April 15, 1452 - May 2, 1519)
This is my tribute to the illegitimate son of a peasant girl -- a man who was once charged with sodomy and necromancy (not at the same time), who was an engineer who dreamed up some of the most amazing inventions of all time (he even entertained the wildest of notions that man could fly like a bird), and whose notebook sold many years later, at auction, for $30-million.
Leonardo da Vinci, the famed creator of the Mona Lisa, a portrait that he never actually finished. (see the Lisa's finger), has always been one of my favorite artists, personalities, people in history.
Leonardo, a strict vegetarian, could easily be distracted and often left one project for another. But somehow he still managed to turn out The Last Supper. Interesting, in that he also designed war machines.
This genius is said to have proclaimed nature as the best teacher, the wisest teacher, the most honest teacher. I tend to believe him.
"Human subtlety will never devise an invention more beautiful, more simple or more direct than does nature because in her inventions nothing is lacking, and nothing is superfluous."
Leonardo da Vinci died nearly 500 years ago, and yet this "illegitmate" man is still remembered, and revered.
God sure has a sense of humor.
This one is for you, Leonardo. Thanks for the Mona Lisa, even if you didn't quite get her done.
~~Sheree~~
PS To all the "south paws" in the world...you are in good company. Leo was left-handed, too.
Thank you for 50 followers! My photography journey is a fun one, I appreciate you all leaving likes and following me. <3

If instead of the diabolical focus Sir Hugo was more inline with the God of Solomon then his demons may have been a gifted labour source for his good works. This Goblin Hall may have been constructed by a workforce keen to protect their stone crafting secrets and possibly also French in origin.
Most likely because it still stands as the only roofed section of Yester Castle it is suggested that the Goblin Ha’ is where Sir Hugo practised dark arts such as necromancy and making pledges, pacts with infernal spirits. The Hall is even stated to have an entrance to Hell. The design of the structure that still exists gives a much clearer indication of the Hall as the place to bring in animals at times of siege in lower section and to have above the animal stalls floors for two legged occupation with the lowest tunnelled into the bedrock being a vital access to water and not an entrance to the underworlds. Magic often features in Legend in ways that can quickly come undone if you look closely at the weave of Folklore, and investigate into the weft as that which is seen as superb for enchanting stories is not the best factual material for histories.
I hope that Sir Hugo being of either Giffard, or Jiffard has no overbearing influence on the Giff versus Jiff debate? That is usually the .gif versus the .jif at least in pronunciation.
