On the late part of September 2015, I drove to San Francisco from Nebraska to see my all-time favorite rock band, AC/DC played at baseball stadium, and decided to take a tour on Highway 50, the loneliest road in America. I swear, I loved it!!! Awesome sightseeing while driving, so peaceful, nothing bullshit. Oh, as soon as I arrived in Reno (oh yeah, I drove westbound), I felt so sad, because I wanna more!!

If you haven't driven on this road, then I highly recommend you people to try it.

Another perspective of this abandoned church, in the same town that I recently stopped by.

RE: I returned to the tiny town that I stopped by two years ago, and decided to re-shoot this abandoned church with some different perspectives, like including the dirt road, hills, and more trees; nothing close-ups.

Here's another point of view of this abandoned schoolhouse I posted a while back. One of my favorite schoolhouses I photo’d.

I returned to the tiny town that I stopped by two years ago, snapped some abandoned houses and church, but decided not to share since most of them are not worth to show; and for whatever reason I missed their schoolhouse the first time. And this time, I did not. I noticed they added a new roof on this schoolhouse; not impressed, really, LOL!

Ohh, what a breathtaking! The lake is located in the Yellowstone National Park.

Here's the abandoned farmhouse on the beautiful prairie in Boone County, Nebraska.

Same farmhouse I posted yesterday or so, but different point of view.

Went out to hunt the abandoned places today, nothing excited to find, but I ended up drove on the road with 'No Outlet' sign, drove for a while and found this abandoned property; parked my vehicle, walked around and found this abandoned car as you can see here. There were a few more old barns, but wasn't worth to snap, anyway.

The Buick LeSabre is a full-size car made by the division Buick of General Motors from 1959 until 2005. My wife used to have a 2004 Limited, had it for some years until someone drove through the stop sign and hit the car's fender. The car was totaled. She was fine, just a chest sore, but went to ER to be sure there was no internal bleeding, etc. and all came back negative. That was good news.

So thrilled to discover this schoolhouse. It was a beautiful day to drive and took some snapshots of the abandoned places.

This is the oddest abandoned schoolhouse I discovered because it built with cement. It built in 1939. From my own observation, it was on a cattle field, but no cows around. The gate was wide opened, and I was freely to walk around, but had to watch out for some drops they left on the ground so don’t have to step on it accidentally.

I returned to the tiny town that I stopped by two years ago, and decided to re-shoot this abandoned church, with new perspective like included dirt road, and more trees; nothing close-ups. And it turns out nicely, I think.

Located in a near-ghost town in Lincoln County, Nebraska.

Drove by an old construction business and discovered this abandoned truck. I am not sure which year, but I am pretty sure either 1971 and 1972. For those who are a Chevrolet expert, what's your thought?

I am not really into photographing the big rig, but I found this is a quite interesting. It locates in a near-ghost town in the high risk flood zone. It's kinda looking spooky, but fascinating.

Located in a very small town, in Missouri.

St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church is an historic Lutheran church.

On January 4, 2008, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places as St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and Parochial School.

The current brick building was constructed in 1893 by Pete Thull of Rock Port, Missouri and has been in use ever since. The wooden, parochial, one-room schoolhouse was constructed behind the church in 1912. It held regular classes in German until 1917. The parish hall addition was constructed in 1953.

The church survived damage inflicted in the Great Floods of 1951 and 1993. It is currently awaiting restoration due to severe and long-term flooding in 2011.

Nothing more information after the 2011 flood. I know we have some more floods after that, 2019 was worse. The town is 5 population, was 15 in 2010. So, I am guessing they gave up and abandoned the church.

Decided to take a field trip to some places today, and located this cool abandoned wooden grain elevator in a ghost town, Boyd County.

Abandoned Neon Motel Sign - Nebraska

Different perspective, plus black and white.

The building of the motel was razed some years ago [15-20 years ago], and they left the sign there. I have passed this property a zillion times, but never stopped and took the photo until recent. The reason for that is because it is right next to the highway, and I always hesitated to stop and photo it due to too many vehicles passing this place. Now, there's a new 4-lane highway about two miles north of this property. The 'old' highway, as I now call it, has fewer vehicles passing this property; it made me feel less edgy.

Happy 4th!

The motel was razed some years ago [15-20 years ago], and they left the sign there. I have passed this property a zillion times, but never stopped and took the photo until today ... finally. The reason for that is because it is right next to the highway, and I always hesitated to stop and photo it due to too many vehicles passing this place. You know, some drivers don't always pay the attention to the road, etc. and hit me. This time I felt less edgy because there's a new 4-lane highway about two miles north of this property.

There's an abandoned grain elevator, just south of the town, with one population.

I don't really into photography of the county roads, but thought why not sharing and see what happens. Thumbs up or down.

I have been to St. Augustine several times, and saw this lighthouse by some miles, but never got this close, until just now; for a good reason - to photograph, of course. I did not go up to view the ocean and city of St. Augustine. Perhaps some day.

It was a nice day to drive south to Kansas from my home state Nebraska and photo some abandoned places yesterday. So, here’s one of my first stops, a schoolhouse.

It looks like someone have been well-taking care of this property as there are some decorations like wooden wreath by the door, etc.

Located in Pawnee County, Nebraska on this windy day.

Did not find more than what I hoped for, but this one I was thrilled to discover.

I don't know if I will upload anything this week. If I don't, then wish you all Happy Holidays. ;-)

This morning, the Union Pacific Railroad’s Big Boy Steam Locomotive #4014 stopped in Columbus, Nebraska. There were a lot of spectators came to see the world's largest operating steam locomotive. It was fascinating to see the closeup of many steel parts, etc.

If you want to know where it's moving, you can check their site at www.up.com/heritage/steam/track/.

It was a windy day, but I adjusted the shutter speed to 'freeze' it. It turned just fine, I think.
