These are supplemental radios that can be used by emergency responders in the National Capital Region (NCR) in a large-scale emergency. Following 9-11, emergency responder across the Washington, D.C. area are working together to train, execise and buy equipment to respond to the next emergency, like a terrorist attack.
Circa 1973 - Showing the typical NCR work benches. The depot was moved from Burnie to Devonport and we had to dispose of most of the benches due to the limited space at Devonport. The bench tops were made on Huon pine and would now be worth a lot of money.
