This does not look like an actual nautical knot like a sheepshank or bowline. This is more of a draped, wrapped and folded rope. Apparently this person missed Knot Tying 101, and isn’t he sorry now!
Happy Texture Tuesday!

Scotch Pond is a historic moorage site
Scotch Pond consists of a pond, originally a slough, dredged in the early 1950s and connected by a channel to the Strait of Georgia. Along with the pond are the remains of wooden boardwalk pilings which run directly along the south edge of the pond and were constructed in 1899 as part of the Scottish Canadian Cannery operation.

The Pitt Wildlife Management Area offers the perfect set of trails for nature lovers and bird watchers as well as those looking for a nice easy walk along the dikes of Pitt Lake.
Starting from the Grant Narrows parking lot, walk east past the boat launch area to the metal gate and continue along the Pitt Lake Dike. A short distance after leaving the parking area, you approach a wooden viewing lookout. Climb the stairs to the top and take in the views of Pitt Lake and the marsh area as well as the nature living throughout the area.
Thank-you for all the overwhelming support and many friendships.

“And It's dance with me, dance with me
Nautical wheelers.
Take me to stars that you know.
Come on and dance with me,
Nautical wheelers
I want so badly to go.
Well the sunrise'll bring on the
Sleep that's escaped us and
Everyone's off to their bed.
There'll be huggin' and sqeezin',
A little pleasin' and teasin'
And rubbin' of each others' head.
So won't you dream on comrades
Seems nothing affects you,
Nothing, no reason nor rhyme.
That's cause everyone here is just more than
Contented to be living and dying in three quarter time.”

The Viking King – a classic converted wooden tug. Built in Lund in 1921, by Thulin Brothers as the Niluht, eventually passing into the ownership of Viking Tug Boats.
Thought I would include this low reso historic tugboat photo. I snapped it years ago with a point and shoot camera, as I passed this old towboat on the Pitt River,

Warm evening light, accentuates the boarder's skin tones and lights up the boat, yet contrasts with the icy blue tones and the snow peaked, Mount Baker background.

It was too nice an evening to retire in our campground for the night (last September) so we walked down to the local village on the Bay of Fundy to check out the action. It was pretty quiet, actually, which suited us just fine, and there was a nice pink glow in the sky after the sun had set. I gather nautical twilight officially happens when the sun is 6-12 degrees below the horizon but without any way to measure it and given that the lights on the pier and one of the boats had come on, it seemed more fitting than Civil or Astronomical Twilight.
I try to get to this location every summer solstice to catch the earths terminator, the line between night and day.
