There's something truly magical about early autumn, especially when experienced with a mindful walk around the lake. The air is crisp, carrying the gentle scent of changing leaves, and the sunlight has a softer, golden hue.
As I walked, I took a moment to truly see the vibrant transition happening around me. The trees, still largely green, were beginning to show those first hints of gold and russet, reflected beautifully in the calm water. The quiet ripple of the lake, the gentle rustle of leaves underfoot, and the distant calls of birds created a symphony of peace.
A mindful walk isn't just about moving; it's about being present. It's noticing the delicate textures, the interplay of light and shadow, and the incredible beauty that nature offers if we just slow down enough to appreciate it. This morning's stroll was a perfect reminder to breathe, observe, and connect with the serene beauty of the season.
It's easy to get caught up in all the political drama of the day or the doom and gloom surrounding the pandemic. All the more reason to tune it out for a while and go for a walk. Is that what forest bathing is all about? Of course we have to stop every two minutes for a picture - most of which are deleted - but that's besides the point. Have a great weekend!

I was lucky to spot this Kestrel drying out after a heavy shower. With the leave already falling it makes spotting the wildlife much easier. I used my Nikon D4s with a Sigma 150-600mm lens
