In dawn’s hush by the water’s gleam,

Where reeds sway soft in a waking dream,

A ghost in white begins to glide—

A spoonbill steps with solemn pride.

Her bill, a paddle of ancient grace,

Draws silver trails in the water’s face.

She dances slow, side to side,

In search of life the tides may hide.

No song she sings, no boast, no cry,

Just silence cloaked in the open sky.

Yet still she holds a timeless lore,

Of wind, and wing, and mythic shore.

So still the world when she takes flight,

A feathered wisp in morning light—

A breath of snow against the blue,

A fleeting peace the wild once knew.

there are obstacles in my way.

this is my sister when we went out on a shoot together a couple months ago. just wanted to share one of the many shots i took that day, and to show you that i don't only take pictures of myself, which many people may think. :)

Nature speaks and this monkey's expressions speak of how very little is done for their kind. At Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, one of the brochures said that these monkeys are 'permanently' put to sleep if they get aggressive in public places. What a shame!
