The male Rose-Breasted Grosbeak I posted a few days ago was seen with this female Rose-breasted Grosbeak hopping on lower tree limbs and logs on the ground rummaging for food. The female was perched on a log in this shot.

With this species, both the male and female build a nest out of twigs, grasses, weeds and leaves. In this nest, the female lays an average of four bluish-green eggs with reddish-brown speckles. Both the male and female take turns incubating. After approximately twelve days, the eggs begin to hatch.
