Thekkady(Idukki district) is a town near Periyar National Park, an important tourist attraction in the Kerala state of India. The named Thekkady is derived from the word "thekku" which means teak. This place experiences a pleasant climate all over the year. It drops to its lowest in the month of December-January and highest in the month of April-May.
Thekkady is located about 257 km (160 mi) from Trivandrum, 141 km from Madurai City and Madurai Airport, 145 km from Cochin International Airport and 114 km from Kottayam railway station. Thekkady is located near to Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. The sanctuary is famous for its dense evergreen, semi-evergreen, moist deciduous forests and savanna grass lands. It is home to herds of elephants, sambar, tigers, gaur, lion-tailed macaques and Nilgiri langurs. Due to the density of the forest sightings of elephants and in particular, tigers are highly unlikely.
The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is spread across 777 km2 (300 sq mi), of which 360 km2 (140 sq mi) is thick evergreen forest. The wildlife sanctuary was declared a tiger reserve in 1978. The splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar River adds to the charm of the park. The greatest attractions of Periyar are the herds of wild elephants, deer and bison that come down to drink in the lake. The sanctuary can be accessed by trekking, boating or jeep safari.
Thekkady is considered a haven for natural spices such as black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, nutmace, ginger, and clove.

A different perspective on the Barwon River bridge, a view from beneath it, I just liked how the colours just work well together, hoping you like it.

This absolutely stunning view on the wonderful side-lit peaks of the Allgäuer Alps (Tannheimer Berge) has been offered to us, on our visit of the mountain station on Mt. Tegelberg (1881 m). The mountain range shows from left to right: Vilser Kegel (1831 m), Brentenjoch (2000 m) and Aggenstein (1986 m).

LAST ONE STANDING
I'm just a little bit in love with this shot! 😍
We had twenty minutes where the sun went behind clouds so sat on the quarry cliff edge having lunch when suddenly a thin vertical slice of sunlight broke through and began quickly working its way along the layers of Dinorwic slate quarry. I tracked it along hoping it would hit this lone tree and as it did it turned completely luminous against the gorgeous purples and aquas of the slate.
It was there one second and gone the next and I knew we had captured somthing special when me, Ryan and Phillip all shouted ''bloody hell!'' at the same time as the cameras fired away 😆

One of my favorite photos taken this year.
I kept moving from dune to dune looking for a nice ridge pointing toward the sunset and some great ripples to catch the light. I thought I was going to be too late when I spied this dune in the distance. Luckily, I made it to the top just in time to line everything up.
White Sands is a great little park, I hope to return soon and share it with
Kay.

In October, I tried to portrait this light-flooded view while the sun formed a nice star through the lens. The scene is located at the edge of the northern side of the small mountain Tannenberg in my hometown Niefern.

Portrayed this blooming tree during spring 2020, when Germany was in first lockdown. Other than our European neighbours, it was always allowed to go out to take some fresh air. This morning was very spooky, as not a single car nor truck drove on the super highway for quite some time.

Being back in the Alps after a long time was a great experience. We had the very nice situation of having our hotel room very close to the lake Weissensee with a stunning alpine view behind. This made it as easy as possible to shoot a nice moody morning scene. The center peak shows Mt. Säuling (2047 m).

Thought this group of characterful trees would look nice during golden hour. So I came to the spot as the high-front Dorit with ten sun hours was over central Europe without a single cloud in the sky.
