A wintry scene in the Adirondack Mountains: looking southwest from the summit of Phelps Mountain toward Mt Colden and Avalanche Mountain. Snow and fog / clouds severely restricted the visibility from the summit overlook; nevertheless, it was still a beautiful and stark scene.
I love how the water collects in the centre of the Lupin leaf. I am not usually successful with growing Lupins, the slugs normally get to them before they have a chance to establish themselves, but this year I've planted 4 mature plants so fingers crossed the little slimy things will leave them alone!
A DISTINCTIVE WADER, looks black and white at a distance, and has a spiky crest, its good to see the juveniles doing well, This one seen at Elmley Marshes, NR Sheppy Kent.
