English bluebells, British bluebells, wood bells, fairy flowers and wild hyacinth, is an early flowering plant that naturally occurs in the UK. It appears in ancient woodlands and along woodland edges in April and May.
A few days ago I enjoyed a walk in North Ayrshire by the Middleton Lochan, on the way there I passed an old rusty gate which I found quite interesting, behind that gate was this view that you are seeing in this image. I can imagine many decades ago people walking through that gate along the avenue of trees in and out a big house that once would have stood at the end of it.
Living on the edge - From the other side (B&W). Although I grew up in a working class area of a big city I find myself drawn to photograph the the coast and the junction of land, sea and sky. Mankind has been part of this landscape for thousands of years and we are now as much a part of it as the waves.
Blakeney Point at Blakeney, Norfolk, England is a spit of land that stretches out into the sea from Cley. It provide safe moorings for boats in the naturally protected Blakeney Harbour and the end is home to England's largest grey seal colony with around 4,000 pups born each year. The building is the old lifeboat house which is now an exhibition centre and home to the National Trust wardens that look after the area and colony.

Colour re-edit of a shot taken in February 2018 and given a slightly tighter crop. Being unable to get out and photograph many people this year (for obvious reasons) has been so bitterly painful as I truly miss those brief connections with people and capturing a brief window into their lives and personalities.
Naturally I am hoping that 2021 brings some positive steps towards the old normal in our lives but I am not optimistic that it will be before the summer. Until then, stay safe everyone and thank you for sharing your interest in my photography.
Toledo-Grand Rapids freight Q335 glides across the calm Thornapple River on a late-Summer afternoon. A pair of classic YN2 CW40-8s lead a Mother/Slug duo. I had just started my Senior year of high school and was taking a photography class, and one of our first assignments was to incorporate "reflections". So naturally, I used it as an excuse to go railfanning.
I visited the Abnormality event and was blown away by all the creativity and avatars I saw there. Nothing in this image is from the event. I just felt inspired to do something ♥

Nixy the Pixie - Apika
Next to San Jose is a small town called Alviso, located at the San Francisco Bay in California. We went to the Alviso Marina County Park before sunrise to take photos of the colorful and calm salt ponds. Salt ponds range from blue green to deep magenta – colored naturally by the microorganisms that thrive as salinity levels increase from evaporation. These salt pillars are illuminated by the sun in the golden hour.
I processed a photographic and a balanced HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

The stairs are an excellent perspective training. They climb and spin towards the background of the image. This is creating an imbalance and naturally guiding the eye.
In a staircase it is better to watch where you put your feet.
In the photo, this reflex is repeated.

Ah, strawberries and raspberries! It's easy to see why I love them. Here's a breakdown of some possible reasons:

As I came across this scene, several options to immortalize it sprang to mind. I could invert myself and the camera and thus obtain the right-side-up version of this White-breasted Nuthatch. Intriguing, but given my advanced age and continually decreasing agility, I decided against this. Another, equally important, reason against this approach was that I did not want anybody to get the idea that it would be a good thing to come up with a new helmet law for photographers out in the field. Yes, you are welcome. The other option, naturally, was to just take the shot and then invert the image in Lightroom or similar software. Much more appealing. Well, I did end up using this option but decided to leave things in their natural state, mostly for documentation purposes. The advantage here would be that if I ever decided to join a group, the image would be less likely to be rejected due to my obsessively fiddling with the settings in Lightroom. This just recently happened to a bird photographer Down Under and has been weighing heavily on my mind ever since :-)

The Borrego Palm Canyon trail is a very easy three mile round-trip hike along a rocky canyon that will take you to one of the last remaining naturally occurring native California palm groves.
Your patience and effort will soon be rewarded you with a gorgeous view of the palm tree lined, waterfall fed oasis!

The members of We’re Here! are out and about today, enjoying *Nature**.
I live in Fort Collins, Colorado. The city has taken great pains to preserve many beautiful "Natural Areas" sprinkled liberally throughout and around the town. The theme today got me out of my apartment and onto a trail at the crack of dawn. Wonderful!
I saw some pretty light on our end table this morning and was eating grapes so I put two and two together and wa-la. It feels so good to post a brand new pic. I'm SO over going through my archives looking for something to post. Time for spring so I can get out there and shoot again! It's been too cold for me.

This is a "Monstera" plant and a puka is a hole (in Hawaiian). This is not damage, this is how the leaves are naturally. They do get quite large. I spotted this one in my neighbors yard.
