yet another frozen waterfall which we encountered in Iceland. Each of them was very unique with its own unmistakable signature :)

Antelope Canyon, Arizona -- where sunbeams bring sandstone cave walls to life. Magic, yet very real.

Glacial ice floes originating from Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon float into the North Atlantic where they are returned onto the black volcanic beach.

Now where is my Gin?

Another capture of a wonderful sunrise at Jokulsarlon glacier bay in Southeast Iceland. It is those moments of special light when the "natural diamonds" are looking most splendid.

Today's another day with scorching hot temperatures in Mid-September!! So let me offer some welcome refreshment to all of us who are suffering from the heat :)

The leaves are normally green and white but turn pink and green when the plant flowers.

Reflections distorted by ripples, the Calvert River, Northern Territory Australia. The plants at the edge of the water are Pandanus spiralis, the common screw palm or common screw pine, which is neither a palm nor a pine.

The mind bogging coastline near Sauðárkrókur in North Iceland with a vast coastal lagoon, amazing mountain ranges and diverse islands of interesting geological background. A coast made for people who like me prefer to explore the landscape instead of holding the forth in a deck chair :p :D

more impressions of the amazing Northern Lights show we encountered yesterday. The emotions you go through when standing alone in this vast space in Arctic night watching this show unfold cannot be described easily. It was exhilarating, humbling and I felt completely awe-struck.

.. or the green blues of Luisenpark ..enjoy :)

In Antelope Canyon, northern Arizona, at high noon. Thus the brilliant light from the "slots" above, which highlights the rock formations below. For those who are new to slot canyons, this narrow deep canyon, located in Navajo territory, has been carved out through sandstone deposits over millions of years by water -- often flash floods. Today, it is probably the most well-known slot canyon in the world...ten years ago, relatively few people knew of it. Going there is a painful experience, not because of any technical difficulties, but because hundreds of people sign on to (expensive) tours through it most days. It deserves to be seen in solitude, but that is no longer possible. The footprints in the sand tell today's story of Antelope Canyon. Nevertheless, a sublime natural wonder.

Olafsfjordur in Iceland showcasing an incredible array of snow and ice textures. No wonder Northern cultures have many names for snow :)
