It’s #WaterfallWednesday and now that I’ve been home and was able to access @lightroom to fully stitch together shots of #jacksonfalls, I’m excited to show off how cool and secluded and hidden this fall is. Tucked away in a small gorge off the Natchez Trace Parkway, Jackson Falls is a branch of the Duck River and is a sculpted cascade down a 900 foot steep path that descends from the parkway into the gorge itself. While the main part of the falls is at the end of the trail, a whole sheet of water precedes them and cascades down to form the base of the fall which is seen here. With the rocks and trees of the gorge stretching above, the whole environment feels like a walled garden with a spectacular fountain at its center.

...or these pics may not be remembered fondly! ;)

A historian described the Natchez Trace Trail as the border between civilization and the wild. The trail was used by indians, soliders, and settlers. You could feel their spirit in the twilight. It was the same feeling I have gotten walking down an empty street in New York - that you are walking on top of the footsteps of thousands before you.
