Little Jimmy was looking forward to his birthday party until Nanny told him she'd got a magician and his assistant for entertainment. Little Jimmy was hoping for a clown or pony. His baby sister Hilda whispered she thought the magician was Nanny in a mask and disturbing Cousin Elfred. Little Jimmy felt really sorry for the tiny rabbit....

Had four nannies having babies all around the same time recently, so we have seven baby goats. They are the cutest you have ever seen! Expecting another nanny to be having more soon!
Thanks so much to Lenabem Anna for the beautiful texture.

Thank you all for the nice comments, awards and invites! :)
Yes, I have lost the fight. My youngest daughter has taken over my Ipad. I doubt that I will get it back.
This is a scan from the lab, with NORITSU KOKI QSS-32_33, without correction
he cuts out large margins around the edge of the frame. I will scan and replace the photo myself later.. at least i hope so
The Moffat Hills have feral goats wandering their slopes over a large area. This nanny & her kid were spotted on a hike in the hills near Hart Fell. I unintentionally disturbed them while walking past so I took this quick photo and left them alone.
This mother buffalo, or bison, is guarding three young ones (you can see the backside of the calf that is mostly hidden). There are only 2 species of buffalo left -- one that roams the steppes of Europe and Asia and the American Bison, indigenous to Canada and the US. It was going extinct in North America until farmers realized they could make money raising them on the plains or prairies. Did you know that buffalo are sometimes bred with domestic cattle to produce fertile offspring called beefalo or zubron? Taken at African Lion Safari, Cambridge, Ontario.
This is another shot of a young Little Tern which I watched exercising its wings in the security of its protected site at Nanny Burn, Northumberland prior to leaving for its winter quarters along the west coast of Africa in July.
Thank you all for your kind responses.
I found this sculpture of a nanny quite creepy. But then I saw the children she was looking after and thought they looked pretty creepy too. So, in the end it all came together.

Happy weekend my friends, see you the next week!

After feeding its infant this goat wandered off to graze, leaving it exposed to some atrocious weather.
Feral Goats can be found in many areas of the Highlands and are sometimes considered a nuisance due to the damage they cause and pressure they put on grazing resources. They are probably descendants of domesticated animals released into the wild in the 18th century during the 'Clearances'.
Whatever their background, they have become very hardy to survive our winters; the fact that they come down from the hills to give birth in February is a good indication they originated in warmer climes and confirms them as a non-native species.
I saw these two ants caring for a "clutch" of some other unknown insect nymphs on the stem of an Aspen tree.

Carte de visite by an anonymous photographer. A woman is flanked by her two charges. The child on the left rests a hand on the nanny’s hand. This image was once part of an album acquired by a collector in the 1970s. According to the collector’s cousin, “He mostly bought them at flea markets in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.” This may be a clue to the identity of the woman and children.
