Somehow, I thought of the song 'San Francisco' when I saw this elephant Mysuru's zoo. Decorated for Ganesh Chaturthi, it was oblivious to being the object of veneration as it peacefully champed on some grass.
'Wildlife shows up when least expected' - I'm not sure who said this but it is so true in Indian Jungles.
It was a rainy day and it was drizzling all throughout, there was literally no hope for a big cat and we were enjoying the weather and the drive. To our surprise, We picked up some fresh pugmarks and waited at a place where potentially we can cross roads with the tiger. With all eyes on the trail, all of a sudden naturalist Lokesh from the front shouted 'Tiger'... bang behind us a bold sub adult male tiger crossed the path, looked at us and went the other side.
From the time, the naturalist said and the tiger moving the other side, all happened within a second. I was able to capture the eye to eye look for this bold guy. Spotting a Malabar Giant Squirrel eating in what is known as its signature eating style. Maybe one of the few good things to happen on my birthday road trip, before all our equipment begun malfunctioning or crashed.
This picture is a dream come true, 3 years in the waiting, especially now when i dont get to shoot wildlife as much. These are the amazing forests of Dharwad, teeming with wildlife even in this dry season.
Karnataka always has kickass things to offer, and I promise to be back, with working equipment ofcourse!

With a vast majority of the handful that visit this quaint paradise, it might be an unexpected surprise if you find this beach and find nobody around!
