Col. David Carstens, U.S. Army Garrison commander, along with Kathleen Ketcham and Dr. Lucius Clay III, granddaughter and grandson of Gen. Lucius D. Clay, unveil the new sign to name the airfield at Wiesbaden, Germany Lucius D. Clay Kaserne June 14. This was one of three ceremonies held at the installations June 14 to culminate several construction projects that have transformed the installation's landscape. Photo inset left: Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling, U.S. Army Europe commander, along with Joan Shalikashvili, widow of Gen. John Shalikashvili, and Brant Shalikasvili, son, unveil the sign to dedicate the building as the General John Shalikashvili Mission Command Center. Photo inset right: Col. Carstens passes the ceremonial key to the Tickle family, signifying the opening of the Newman Village, named for Col. James R. Newman. I hand scrolled the side of this cake with royal icing, using a large tip nozzle. Also decorated the top and sides with various edible decorations. I was extremely pleased with the result.
On the top of cake is a sugarpaste plaque with babies name on it.
Quite good for a cake newbie : )

Everyone gathered to watch Francis Bedford play the harpsichord during Messiah, and afterward Chancellor Deborah Ford presented Francis with a plaque to be displayed in the new concert hall. Guests were invited to a reception, while close friends and family stayed for a private reception where the Chancellor gave a toast to Francis.
