Clouds are a rare thing in the desert, which means good sunsets can be rare too.

The Skeleton Coast is a stretch of the west coast of Africa located in Namibia, where the arrival of the cold Benguela current produces dense ocean fogs most of the year.
The basic characteristic of this coast lies in the fact that the Namibian desert reaches up to the South Atlantic Ocean. The winds blow from the interior of the continent towards the sea, with which very little rain falls, and the climate is completely inhospitable. On the other hand, there is a constant and intense swell on the beaches. In the days of rowing boats it was possible to land across the tide, but impossible to set sail again. The only way out of the site was to walk hundreds of kilometers through the arid desert. This and the many wrecks of ships that can be found along the coast, a consequence of the fog, the winds and the strong waves, have given it its macabre name.
This photograph is precisely taken there, where there are colonies of sea lions, frequented by jackals that feed on them.
More quad bike tour shenanigans, through the dunes near Langstrand.
This was a stop to be instructed how to ride directly down a large dune. Tour also included wall of death style riding sideways along dunes, but you just had to follow behind the guide for that.

It is a group of bald granite peaks or bornhardts located between Usakos and Swakopmund in the Namib desert of Namibia.
The highest outcrop rises about 1784 meters (5857 feet) above sea level. The peaks stand out dramatically from the flat surrounding plains.
The highest peak is about 700m above the floor of the desert below. A minor peak – the Little Spitzkoppe – lies nearby at an elevation of 1584 metres above sea level. Other prominences stretch out into a range known as the Pontok Mountains.
The quiver tree or "Kokerboom" is one of the most interesting and characteristic plants of the very hot and dry parts of Namibia and the northwestern part of the Cape Province in South Africa. Actually it is no tree, but an aloe plant. The botanical name is ALOE DICHOTOMA. Dichotoma refers to the forked branches of the plant. The plant is called a "Kokerboom" because some Bushmen and Hottentot tribes used the tough, pliable bark and branches to make quivers for their arrows. "Koker" is the Afrikaans word for quiver. The big trees in the forest of Farm Gariganus are between 200 and 300 years old.
