Hekla Aurora special colour scheme seen on short finals for runway 28 at Dublin. This photo was taken from Room 218 of the Carlton Hotel.
'Hekla' is a traditional Icelandic girl's name and also the name of one of Iceland's better-known volcanoes. 'Aurora' is a reference to the northern lights. Hekla Aurora was created as part of Icelandair's #MyStopover campaign, which encourages passengers to take some time to enjoy an Icelandair stopover.

Hornstrandir, Iceland. One of the most remote and beautiful places in whole Iceland. Unfortunately I only had couple of days to explore the area, but certainly it was a place I will never forget.

10-9-2015 - Icelandair, Boeing 757-256. Named "Hekla Aurora."
I'm a bit late to the club when it comes to getting a snap of this stunning 757... But, good things come to those who wait, and my wait paid off!
Info:
Aircraft was built in 1994 and was delivered to Iberia as EC-609 on 29-7-1994. Later re-registered to EC-FYK on 31-10-1994.
It then went on to serve as PH-ITA with ItAv, who took delivery on 5-5-2003.
Icelandair took delivery as TF-FIU on 16-4-2004.
