Today is a blue day at Color my World Daily but I’m skipping it this time since we have a very unique and interesting theme at Looking close on Friday this week. The theme is : "My Name is…" and it must be a black and white picture. Dont worry the blue color will be back next Friday… unless there is another awesome theme incompatible with the blue color…)

No, not a spelling error. Really I was name Christopher but spelt with an f instead of ph. A bit original and I like it, unless it causes legal problems.

This is a revised experiment done several years ago by using 13 of my abstract works and manipulating them into letters on Photoshop to make my name.

I took the original of this shot for the Looking Close... on Friday! group. The prompt this week was "my name is..." in black and white. I took a close up of my vintage Royal typewriter, and cloned the letters of my name onto a single row of keys for easier reading. Then I made it mono with Photos noir filter. Unfortunately, I missed the group deadline (still mixing up time zones from time to time). So as not to waste my cloning effort, I made this squished egg for sliders sunday, using pse's polar coordinates filter. The pebbly background is our rug, seen because I set the typewriter on the floor to get some added texture.

My Name is...
This does not relate to the DANA above. The weirdest thing of all is the fact that I do not like my name in upper case or even a Capitol at the beginning of my name and have signed my name in lower case since 1972 (dana marostega). emails were made for me.

Looking Close... on Friday: My name is (in Black & White).
One of my work shirts that the children have drawn on for me with my name badge and "Higgledy Piggledy my Black Hen" & 10 eggs buttons.
Marian is my given name but I go by Mare. I know I didn't get full image in but it was still my fave of them all and yes I mean all. Took a few. These letters are from my daughters scrapbooking kit. I thought this looks like it is floating down.

Where there is fire there can be found a camera also. The smoke off the flame made a perfect C so I to the C and inverted it for a G, to get my name up in smoke. Photography, smoke, flames, candles, dark to light is all part of me. The name in smoke sums it all up, it all quickly fades, but for now it is all Smiles on Saturday.

My mum named me after the heroine of this book as well as Lady Emma Hamilton (mistress of Lord Nelson) and Emma Peel from the iconic 60s tv show The Avengers. Much as I love Jane Austen, I always thought the last one was by far the coolest :)

To show something about myself I thought I’d use flowers as the animals wouldn’t play ball!! I love nature in all forms so I went and picked some wildflowers (weeds lol) from our lawn to use. Now I remember making daisychains and it was easy, as a child! Not quite so easy to make them now lol and they didn’t want to stay where I put them so my name looks a bit like a 5 year old made it!!

When I thought about the subject of my name in bw, I thought of something that had meaning to me and that described my name and who I am.
To begin with, I love my name even if it is common, because it has a positive meaning and I am like that, positive, the part of my body was chosen in the wrist, because it is there where we often feel our heartbeat and the radial vein passes, important and that for me it means feeling alive.
