Today's lunch. I don't normally line my sarnies up quite so neatly, but thought they looked better this way than piled up on each other for today's photo.

Julie and Mike, friends of ours are over in St. Malo for a short break. They very kindly spent 2½ hours driving over to Perros to take us out to lunch.
Julie was one of my tutors when I did my further education studies and soon became my Mentor and friend. We worked out we'd known each other for over 40 years while having lunch today.
This was my main course, scallops and prawns wrapped in pastry with delicious vegetables and sauce. Served with courgette, broccoli and rice.
I took a lot more photos, but the light was causing horrible problems and this was probably the best one I got, sadly.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)

Although it was rather a good day, I lost all incentive to go out somewhere around breakfast time. It didn't improve either so my back up photo became my photo for today.
I tried to make it look a bit more interesting, but I don't think I have, but we all get days like this. Think it's part of one photo each day.
Anyway, it's me making my lunch, a round slice of salami on some buttered bread on a round plate all in a square format for something a bit different.
It may be better viewed large, though I doubt it, but thank you for your favourites. :O)

i saw this scene and moved close to have a look (i know, how brave of me!) but then what i thought was a spider with his lunch - turned out to be a spider on top of a spider on top of his lunch!
Another day when, weather wise, I chose to stay indoors.
At least, I could could try and cook up something I have not done before.
Tagliatelle with roasted butter squash, bacon, walnuts with a sprinkling of olive oil, salt and chilli flakes.
I was happy enough to eat it.
And it didn't matter that I made that just for one. With a radish carpaccio on the side, and watercress pasta.

New series..... 'From where my lunch stands'.
Where was my lunch standing? On a worksheet regarding graphing linear equations, slope and that pesky y-intercept. Oh, I'm kidding..... about the series part, at least.
(Oh, and it's blackened grouper salad with cranberries, walnuts, goat cheese and raspberry vinaigrette.)
My son loves cooking, but he is not tall enough to cook yet, so I only allow him to cut, garnish, style and serve. He however keeps giving some interesting ideas. Children often come up with unpredictable twists adults cannot think of. This idea worked great. I made a traditional roasted tomato and fennel soup which was essentially Italian until his twist came along. Recipe to come.

February 9, 2021 - For John's Birthday, which is actually February 10th, we celebrated with a Costco Pizza and some Caesar Salad at work! Here are my Lunch Plates! It was delicious!

My place has been messed for the few days. There are many things in my kitchen that I may want to use for the photo shoot for a bakery coming tomorrow. Still I fixed my lunch among these stuffs. When I was eating this pasta, I just felt happy, so happy with what I've been doing. Taking photographs for businesses and individuals sounds simple but it gives me true joy and a feeling that my sensibility is accepted.
My wife spent seven years in Japan while she finished her masters and doctorate in marine geochemistry so her specialty is Japanese food. Here is one of the bento lunchboxes she prepared for me and I must say I am drooling now that I am looking at the food once more.

i learned to like the taste of brown rice. cook it long enough in a lot of water and it doesn't resemble cardboard.
Yes,I cook it myself yesterday for lunch.
really spicy and very tasty,you should try the original taste......and eat with the fresh vegetables.....and I ate with rice.
