Nashville NC - Inmate and chapel clerk Jim Ross places a religious service flyer on the door of the prison chapel at Nash Correctional Institute. Chapel service materials and recreational gear at the prison is paid for by inmates volunteering their earnings at approximately 70 cents an hour, says Reverend Greg Gregory, the chaplain at Nash Correctional Institute. Reverend Gregory says he helps provide a sense of responsibility and spiritual guidance for inmates that otherwise would have few opportunities for positive changes in the prison system. Reverend Gregory's job as prison chaplain will be eliminated after state budget cuts from the N.C. Department of Correction. (Photo by Gray Whitley)
