...formerly known as a vintage pickle (or celery) dish.
I like using thrifted items for uses other than their intended purpose. The vintage hobnail glass is used to hold my toothbrush and toothpaste.

This is one of those useless things that us gals use to decorate that makes guys just shake their heads. This is a dried flower thingy ( a decorative orb according to the packaging) that sits on my bathroom counter. I'd bet big money that you won't find this kind of stuff around a single guy's place!

OMG, OMG!!!- My second Explore Front Page - thank you everyone for all your views and comments that got me there! I can't explain the thrill of finding out that for a moment, no matter how brief, I was on the Front Page. Thank you again one and all!
My yearly self-portrait in a mirror shot. It's kind of boring but I think it will be neat when I'm older and can see the transition each year. Especially with my crazy ever-changing hair. =)
I went red again for the new year (it was one of my 41, that's right 41, resolutions). I was ready for a change and was jealous of Lily Cole's gorgeous hair.
Happy New Year to all my wonderful Flickr friends and followers! I hope 2010 is amazing for each and every one of you!

Who am I?
I am photo buff with impaired eye vision.
I am bookworm.
I am classical music maniac.
I am cat lover.
I am a slow person when taking pictures (as commented by my photo club friends) and slow at everything else as commented by my wife.
I am Flickr addict who loves viewing other people's pictures and loves to comment in the first comment box.
I am Sudoku addict and play every Sudoku ranked as difficult or evil.
I am the Flickr photographer who is too shy to show my face to my Flickr friends.
I am traveller in my hometown.
I am photographer who shoots in all kinds of lights and all kinds of boring subjects (including self portrait not showing the face).
I am sure I am not the only person in the world who asks the question "Who am I?".
This is the lyrics from the song "No one knows who I am" from album "Highlights from Jekyll & Hyde".
Look at me and tell me who I am.
Why I am, what I am.
Call me a fool and it is true I am.
I don't know who I am.
This is my random snapshot in my bathroom and it was taken without looking at the LCD screen of my X10.
Happy weekend!
Entrei em quarentena há dois dias ! Eba !!!!

40 year old + 2 days! Last Saturday was my birthday and I want to thank everyone for comments, emails and flickrmails. I love it !
This year is gonna be amazing and it´s good to start it as a mature woman...LOL!
Kisses, my friends!
A song that I love to celebrate it: IN MY LIFE
Lovely "souvenir de bord de mer", supposed to be around the 30's, except that this one is a modern fake, sold as genuine, sometimes.

pretty much sooc, (just added a vignette).
i'm sorry i've been having such a gigantic shitfest over blurs lately..
gaaahhhh.
as the title suggests, i've been feeling a bit like i'm in the middle of the ocean without a lifejacket, if you know what i mean. yesterday was the seniors' last day and i can't even go on facebook because it makes me feel all sad, seeing all of their names...that said i have NO IDEA what i'm going to be like at graduation. and then that gets me thinking about next year...
(ironically, our 'senior girls 11' shirts came today so we're wearing them tomorrow).
and then we have exams next week and my spanish 4 oral is tomorrow (aljdkalfjkaklf) and i'm basically drowning in review packets.
speaking of senior year (well, before i started on about exams..) i think i've decided to start a 365 sometime over the summer to document my last year as a 'kid' (even though i'm pretty sure I'll be one of those perpetual 12 year olds...). i'm thinking early July maybe?
i don't know. i hope i don't turn into one of those sad uninspired 365ers who stops 200 days early due to an onslot(?) of emo angst. we'll see, i guess.
ehh, sorry this is soo long; just wanted to do a 'quick' update, (if anybody actually cares to read it)..i probably won't post much in the next coming week & a half, prom being this weekend and exams and all.
bye flickr loves :)
"Their song takes effect at midday, in a windless calm. The end of that song is death."
this is going to be a part of my Greek mythology series. It doesn't really work but whatever.
This isn't how I imagined it. I wanted to go to the lake/dam near my house but it's windy and the water wouldn't be still. It was going to be fabulous.
Never mind. I'll probably re-do it sometime.
In other news, I got Gimp! But I don't know how to do expansions on it. Would anybody be interested in showing me?

You are excused from commenting on any pictures of girly-girl stuff, or baby shots, or any kind of home decor pictures I might post, now or in the future. I totally understand! LOL!
So it's a bit choppier than I would've liked. But over all, I think I did a pretty good job cutting my hair. I even did layers and everything.
Cool.

she and her mother and the now dead guy were the only ones who lived in las vegas...everyone had just arrived
Moved my sock/chipboard/tape contraption off of the long cardboard tube and directly onto my camera.
So. Check out Aivlene's shoes. They are Joey's from when he was exactly her age. I thought they would fit. Wrong. He wore a size 6 1/2 Wide because he was a monster baby.
Aivlene loves to try on shoes. It's her passion. She saw these, stuck out her feet and she was off. She does not care that they are too big.
Check out her $1 Target tutu.

Ugh, I never use a flash. Observe my freaky mole (benign, at least as og two years ago).

A really bad Angelina Jolie impression.
We actually didn't plan this .... I had been toying with the cowgirl idea but hadn't told Mondo.
He then mentioned wearing his cow pj's and asked me if I could make him an udder. I laughed and replied "I think so .... " I then had to figure out the logistics of it. About 30 years of sewing under my belt and making things like stuffed toys came in handy. My initial mockup turned out pretty good. Mondo was shocked that it was the rough copy! lol
His (my) udder was a big hit on Church Street that's for certain!
I live in a cute little 1940's WWII house in Richmond. And when they did the dreadful 70's makeover in the bathroom, with formica walls and peel and stick floor, etc., they left this charming little feature. A built-in, mirrored, corner vanity. I've been using the space as a "shrine", usually with some sort of ridiculous theme, and change it out every couple of months.
This month I've left my Christmas lights in bathroom, and I think they are staying, such a warm glow instead of the harsh bathroom light glare, and the shrine itself has a toilet paper pyramid with a Santo Nino de Atocha candle underneath/inside. I lit it just for this occasion. Now I'm not really a believer or anything, but I just had to have this $1 candle from Long's when I saw the winged heads floating above the enthroned baby Jesus. Pretty trippy you guys. What do you suppose this artist was on? High on faith?
Once the weather gets warmer I can't stand for my hair to be on my collar. Its 90 today. It was time.
I'm glad to say that the "error 99" I encountered on the 30D a couple of weeks ago has yet to repeat itself. I'm not ready to let go.
