Juliet's log: Tuesday 5th No early rise this morning – I woke naturally at 10.05am! – So we spent the morning trying to send emails (unsuccessfully)and jobs around the caravan. This is a free Wi-Fi site but this means it is unprotected and btconnect blocks outgoing emails (- and when we got back home I discovered my e-mail address had been compromised!).
Pm: we decided to go to Collioure for a re-reconnoitre and then see how far we could drive up to Tour de Madeloc which is on the highest peak behind the town. In 1970 we had driven up there almost to the top in old Austin A40 with a slipping clutch. This time we could drive to alt. 450m and then had to walk a winding path for the last 200m in altitude – a lot further in distance. The temp. was 25C even up there but there was a slight breeze. We had amazing views especially N along the coast as it was probably one of the clearest days we could have.
After a quick supper we visited Michael and Annie on their new campsite near Argeles. They wanted to be able to walk into the town but hadn’t realised quite how ‘beachy’ it was around there. We didn’t like the site of its position at all – shady but no privacy with open pitches under the trees.
Lovely day in all.
Breakfast is usually toast or cereal- and I confess that I eat it while reading or checking my e-mail (or both. . .). The book is number 9 in the Maisie Dobbs series by Jacqueline Winspear- Elegy for Eddie.. I am soooooo hooked on Maisie Dobbs.

There are actually two dollhouses here.... My Dad made the ginormous dollhouse in my childhood, and it currently stores more things that should be listed in my e*sy shop. There is a lot of that stuff!

Hand painted glass pendant. It's painted with high temperature paints, which are melting with glass when treated with temperature above 800*C.

This is both my first use of any kind of slide film, and my first home E-6 processing. I am quite impressed with the colorfulness of the results, though the development process isn't what I would call fun.
I'm not sure if I will stick to color or not. Seeing a strip of full color POSITIVE images come out of my little jobo processing tank was awesome, though.
My e-6 chemicals are supposed to do a maximum of 12 rolls. I've done 2 so far, but I had to mix up half of the kit (500ml) to do them. So, i'll probably try to run two more rolls through the mixed working solutions within the next two days or so, and then do that again later, making the kit handle 8 rolls. So, since the kit was $45, that comes to $5.62/roll plus film. hrm, spendy.
Also, slide film takes FOREVER to try. Man. B&W will be dry in an hour or two, but these two rolls of color probably took 6 hours! It was interesting to watch the green and blue color casts (one on each side) go away as the emulsion dried out, though.
I decided to take advantage of the unusual fog that blanketed the Niagara region the other day and got some spooky cemetery shots after dark.

My Olympus XZ-1 macro is not bad at all. I actually didn't think it would be as good as my Canon G12, but actually reckon it is except on Super Macro setting can't use the zoom.
The more I use the XZ-1 the more I love it, what a fab camera it is! I love my E-PL2 and favour it over a DSLR, but boy does this XZ-1 give it a good run for it's money. The F1.8 lens is just awesome, and picture quality is excellent at low ISO. Olyumpus nailed it with this camera, and I don't say this lightly having always been a Canon G series fan.
