Candid eye contact street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Some awesome mutton chops caught my eye for this shot, captured close-up at 35mm focal length. Enjoy!
This interesting subject happened across me while feeding with an Ovenbird at less than ten feet away. This photo was taken later in the day with minimal light, thus an ISO of 20,300.

Burke gave us styling tips using hairspray, fingers and a hair dryer. This is something we came up with. I believe I won't be competing in the "freestyle" category looking like this, because I'll have much more of a chance in the "natural" category.
We'll be finished with the beard cruise on the 20th and will have more frequent updates then. The interweb on the ship is $.75 per MINUTE! yikes
I'm not sure whether his thoughtfulness and thirst are connected, but he looks to me like he is thinking about how he would love to murder a pint of Guinness! Perhaps he will later on, but for now he has to settle for something softer!
The great thing about street photography is that it allows you to invent your own story! What's your take on this?

And gambling's for fools
But that's the way I like it, baby
I don't wanna live forever."

"Death is an inevitability, isn't it ? You become more aware of that when you get to my age. I don't worry about it. I'm ready for it. When I go, I want to go doing what I do best. If I died tomorrow, I couldn't complain. It's been good." (Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister)

So, I wasn't really fan of my original Logan, so I wanted to remake him. It kinda got out of hand...
So, I'll try to talk about very thing, but i I might forget something.
So the first hairpiece, was sculpted on top of a Widows peak, washed in grays and browns. The other is sleepy hair, which was heavily sanded on the top and sides, washed in the same colours.
The full bearded head was Bilbo Baggins, with painted details, and sculpted beard (washed in same colours as hair). I really like the likeness. The mutton-chops head was a Thorin head, with painted details and sculpted muttonchops.
The torsos...
The first I made was the tank top, which was washed in watered down brown (for dirt) and red (for blood).
The dress shirt torso is completely based off of Lego Wolf 42299's design,
The back shirt is pretty simple, and he wears it after the casino, until the farm fight scene.
The buttoned up blue shirt was worn after Laura drives him to the doctors, again, pretty simple.
And the black shirt with the blue shirt on top is Moose Fig's idea that he used for his Heath Ledger Joker
All of the 3D jackets/shirts were made from cape madness AR jackets/Trench coats.
I only made 2 different legs.
Both were dark grey, washed in there respective colours, to give that jean material effect. I washed the blue jeans in red for blood, and added some rips.
And finally, the claws.
So the claws are my own idea, I used a paper clip, and melted it into the plastic of the hand. This makes it more sturdy and gives that illusion that its coming out of the hand.
Overall I love this fig final result. Probably one of my favorites. After seeing Logan, I decided I was going to also re-do Laura, make Donald Pierce, make Dr. Ryce, make Caliban, make X-24, and maybe other characters, but that's probably it.
Thoughts and Suggestions appreciated!
My self-portrait has become pretty popular!
The first ever Beard Team USA National Beard and Moustache Championships will take place on Saturday, June 5, 2010, in Bend, Oregon.
Quit shaving while there's still time!!
The catalogue title here tells as much about the passage of time and changes in spelling, as the fantastic design of the bridge and gate tell us of the changes in power in the island. A beautiful if somewhat incongruous sight, this is much photographed and causes gasps of amazement to many of those passing it on their way along the Blackwater river valley. Hoping that you all have a good weekend!
Per the Archiseek entry which our contributors highlight, a papier mache version of this "Indian Gate" was originally built in 1826 - to welcome the return of estate owners Henry Villiers-Stuart and Theresia Pauline Ott from their honeymoon. They liked it so much, the gate structure was reconstructed in stone a few years later. The wooden platform of the bridge was also rebuilt - but not until the 1970s. (Pretty much a hundred years or so after this image was captured...)

Good morning and a happy Monday to you all! I have a sense of deja vu all over again on this shot - though the one I am imagining is a Lawrence photo rather than this magnificent Stereo Pairs image. The scene is truly beautiful, and the two young women on the ass cart appear to complement it to perfection. The only one that appears down in the mouth is the poor ass. Can we cheer him up by identifying the place?
As well as confirming that we'd met the jaunty bloke with the muttonchops once or twice before, BeachcomberAustralia was quick in finding (and Nydialy in refining) a location. Whether the ass is happy about it or not, it seems pretty certain he's less than a half-mile from a spot we've visited on this stretch of the Blackwater previously. Seems likely that Mr Muttonchops was a driver or similar assistant attached to the Lawrence studio party....

"If you like to gamble, I tell you I'm your man
You win some, lose some, it's all the same to me
The pleasure is to play, it makes no difference what you say
I don't share your greed, the only card I need is
The Ace Of Spades"

I just love putting up these images from the Stereo Pairs Collection! There is something other worldly about them, a really distinctive view into the past and in stereo to boot! This image with its long and convoluted catalogue description has really caught my fancy with the mix of aspects, the bridge, the stone walls, the ruins, the apparently 'in use' church buildings and the more modern structures in the background. Who will be first to identify them and give us a location - The Lemur, Sharon, Niall, That guy from the land down under? Lets go....
And indeed it was Niall (quickly corroborated by Stuart) who gave us the location - as the church and abbey at Cong, County Meath. Confirming that very little around here remains unknown for too long...

Today I leave with the lovely and talented PSQ for a long road trip. One destination of the trip is Anchorage, Alaska, to compete in the World Beard and Moustache Championships on May 23. We will have a travel blog soon. Stay tuned and stay haired.

This interesting shot from the Keogh Collection shows a group of men gathered around a car at an election rally. The man on the ground has a fine set of "mutton chop" sideburns. The candidate has a hat that has been crushed many a time and has taken on a shape all its own. Who, where and when?
Rory_Sherlock was first to suggest (and we have many strong reasons to accept it) that this image was taken at the courthouse in Ennis, County Clare. Perhaps around the same time (1917) as a similar Keogh Brother's image of De Valera on the steps of the court house - as part of his successful by-election bid that summer. We don't have the who/where/when trifecta however - as we're none-the-wiser as to who the central figures are here....

This Cabinet Card studio portrait photograph features a gentleman with neat mustache and long bushy mutton chop sideburns. This fella was photographed by Hartley, 309 Madison Ave in Chicago Illinois.
The sitter is unnamed.
The backside/verso is blank.
I leave Friday for the British Republic in order to represent my country in beard growing! The competition is Sept. 1 in Brighton. I believe I'm in the "sideburns" category. If you're around London or Brighton between now and then, drop me a line!
Just google "world beard competition" and you'll find my team's website.
I've been growing this thing for about 14 months...and trimmed twice...do a flickr search for "dogseat" to track growth progress.
I had the pleasure of meeting many alpacas at an Alpaca Open House outside of Ithaca, NY. Alpacas, in my estimation, are a cross between a llama and a sheep. I don't care if that's right, it's just my opinion...you should ask me about my opinion on your appendix if you care so much. I don't know her name. I wish I did. I think I would name her Lady Muttonchops. Again, JMO.
