Die ehemalige Zisterzienserabtei Bronnbach aus dem 12. Jahrhundert befindet sich idyllisch gelegen im Lieblichen Taubertal, nahe der großen Kreisstadt Wertheim. Das Kloster ist seit 1986 im Besitz des Main-Tauber-Kreises.https://www.kloster-bronnbach.de/Kloster.html
Der heilige Bernhard von Clairvaux zeigte während seines Aufenthalts in Wertheim auf seiner Pilgerreise eines Tages nach einer Wildnis des Taubertals und sprach: „Auch dort wird ein Kloster meines Ordens gegründet werden.“ Noch zu seinen Lebzeiten ging diese Weissagung des berühmten Abtes in Erfüllung, weil einige fränkische Edelleute beschlossen hatten, ein Zisterzienserkloster zu stiften. Als sie hierfür im stillen Taubertal einen geeigneten Platz suchten, erhoben sich plötzlich aus jener Gegend drei weiße Lerchen, ihr Morgenlied zwitschernd. Die Stifter erblickten hierin einen Fingerzeig Gottes und bauten an der so bezeichneten Stelle die Abtei Bronnbach. In das Wappen derselben wurde eine der Lerchen aufgenommen. Good morning everyone. Over a week ago I posted a collage of the seven (7) different species of woodpeckers found in the State of Indiana. At the time I mentioned that the Pileated Woodpecker (Dryocopus pileatus) seen on the left is the largest woodpecker found in North America and the Downy Woodpecker (Picoides pubescens) on the right being the smallest. With this in mind I thought a side by side comparison would provide a much better feel for people (especially for my overseas friends), of the huge size difference between the two.
Both birds are perched in the same spot, on the same tree. The focal length of both shots was between 280-290mm and taken from the same exact distance and location of yours truly. Both birds are females while the Pileated was photographed last summer, the Downy was photographed earlier this month.
For the record, the Pileated Woodpecker ranges from 15.7 - 19.3 inches (40 - 49 cm) in length with a wingspan of 26 - 29.5 inches (66 - 75 cm) while the much smaller Downy is 5.5 - 6.7 inches (14 - 17 cm) in length with a wing span of 9.8 - 11.8 inches (25 - 30 cm).
As for the title, Mutt and Jeff is a long-running American newspaper comic strip created by cartoonist Bud Fisher in 1907 about "two mismatched tinhorns". Today Mutt & Jeff is a "term" often used to describe two complete opposites.

Der auf der KSW-Konstruktion basierende Triebwagen 1118 passiert auf seinem Weg zur Innenstadt soeben den Friedhof "Mater dolorosa" (zu deutsch: schmerzhafte Mutter).

Wenn die jungen Fischadler beginnen, mit den Flügeln zu schlagen,macht sich die Mutter langsam auf den Weg nach Afrika. Der Vater füttert noch zwei Wochen weiter, dann fliegt auch er los. Nun müssen die Jungen allein klarkommen, und die lange Reise ins Winterquartier überstehen. Faszinierend, dass alle getrennt fliegen. Das Elternpaar sieht sich auch in Afrika nicht, aber kehrt im Folgejahr im Abstand von nur 1-2 Tagen zum Mecklenburger Nest zurück.
