The photo was taken during Sergey's performance at the D'Addario Guitar Festival - NAMM Musikmesse Russia, in Moscow.

Sergey Tabachnikov (born April 17, 1987, Samara, USSR) - guitarist, musician, leader of the Nobody.one group. Without any musical education, he became one of the most popular guitarists in the country.

Tabachnikov plays compositions that are completely different in style. But critics and viewers alike agree that his work is nevertheless closer to instrumental and blues rock. He began playing the guitar at the age of 11. Sergei is self-taught, he does not advise others to use the services of teachers, believing that if you wish, you can learn to play on your own.

Sergey Tabachnikov, in addition to his musical career, maintains his blog on YouTube, in which he uploads reviews of guitars and accessories to them. The videos are very popular among both novice musicians and professionals due to their interesting presentation style and specific humor.

Sergey takes the performances of his group more than seriously. The funny guy from the video about guitars disappears somewhere and a professional musician appears on the stage who completely surrenders to playing the guitar.

The Nobody.one group is actively touring Russia and the CIS countries, participating in many festivals, including the invasion. However, speaking of popularity, unfortunately, the group is known only to a narrow circle of viewers, but we hope this situation will change soon, and the general public will learn about the talented guys and their leader!

More than thirty years before Bob Moog conceived of the synthesizer as we know it today, Friedrich Trautwein developed his Trautonium, a highly complex, monophonic electronic musical instrument.

The pitch is "selected" via a string that is pressed against a metal bar and, in essence, works like a ribbon controller.

Although you may not be familiar with this fascinating "pre-synth", chances are that you've already heard some of the sounds it is capable of producing: The bird sounds in Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 movie, "The Birds", were created by Trautonium virtuoso, Oskar Sala.

Jürgen Hiller has been building and repairing Trautoniums for more than twenty years. The one you see above is being custom-built for a customer and includes an unusual percussive module labeled "Schlagwerk" (German for "drum mechanism").

To hear what kind of sounds this fascinating instrument produces, check out these Trautonium-featuring videos on YouTube. Oskar Sala's "Canon Caprice II" is a great starting point.

Panel discussion “Print Publishing: Glorious Future or Sentimental Past?

Serious music publishers are often asked whether they believe that sheet music has a future.

Is sheet music just a declining market in which there is already too much competition; Is there actually untapped potential to expand the sheet music market; Will other technologies take over from paper any time soon; Does the tradition of musicians building well-printed libraries of music for their instrument or voice have a future; Might the modern generation prefer just to download and print out their own sheet music as and when they need it; Can anybody really make money from a product whose real inventory and distribution costs are so high?

In short, is printed paper the ideal delivery mechanism for the future of serious music, or is this just part of the sentimental attachment to the old-fashioned way of doing things that is a general problem with the world of serious music?

The future of sheet music, glory or doom, will be discussed at the ICMP Panel at the Frankfurt Musikmesse on 1 April from 15:00 to 17:00 in Hall 3 level Via, room Kontrast. The Panel discussion will be followed by a reception.

Confirmed panellists are:

• Kathleen Marsh (CEO Music Notes, USA)

• Christopher Smith (Chairman Halstan, UK)

• Larry Morton (President Hal Leonard, USA)

• Thomas Tietze (Chairman of the Bureau of Sheet Music and Rental Material and Member of the DMV Board, Germany)

• Wolf-Dieter Seiffert (Managing Director Henle Verlag, Germany)

The Panel will be moderated by Nicholas Riddle, Managing Director of Peters Edition (UK) and Member of the Board of ICMP.
