The Schmela Haus, built in 1971 by the Dutch architect Aldo van Eyck for the influential art dealer Alfred Schmela in Düsseldorf’s historic district, has belonged to the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen since 2009. Situated between the K20 and the K21, this concrete modernist building – the first in Germany to combine gallery and residential spaces, and today under landmarks protection – functions as the museum’s third branch. Beginning in autumn of 2013, inspired by its visionary architecture and communicative potential, the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen has used the building as an events and guest house under the banner of Futur 3.
The Lofoten Museum is located in the former fishing village Storvågan by Kabelvåg in Lofoten. The museum was founded in 1976 and is part of Museum Nord and the Coastal Works Museum. The facility consists of a homestead with farmhouse from 1815, farm buildings, fisherman's cabins, boathouse with Nordland boats and garden with historic perennials.
The museum also has exhibitions about Lofoten fishing, harbors and lighthouses along the coast and about the medieval town of Vágar which was close to the museum area.

In der Mitte des Raumes steht ein großer, „verzweigter“ weißer Tisch, über dem eine Vielzahl schlanker bronzefarbener Pendelleuchten von einer runden Spiegeldecke hängt. Der Tisch selbst nimmt acht Computerplätze auf, die sich unter kleinen Kuppeln verbergen. Sie schaffen einen Ort des Rückzugs, an dem der Besucher konzentriert arbeiten und recherchieren kann. Außerdem wurde in den Tisch ein großer Multitouch-Bildschirm integriert, an dem sich gleich mehrere Personen einen spielerischen Überblick über das Museum verschaffen und sich dabei spontan untereinander austauschen können. Unter anderem können sie eine virtuelle Tour durch das Museum unternehmen, sich über die dort ausgestellte Kunst und deren Meister oder auch die Architektur und Gestalter der Anlage informieren.
Darüber hinaus hat der Besucher aber auch die Möglichkeit, sich dank einer großen Auswahl von Kunstmagazinen auf analoge Weise mit dem Kunstgeschehen vertraut zu machen.
Den perfekten Ort für eine bequeme Lektüre bieten große schokoladenbraune Ohrensessel, die eine Art Haube zur Abschottung besitzen, den Sitzenden somit aus dem Trubel des Geschehens sinken lassen und vielleicht sogar zu einem kurzen Nickerchen verleiten.

The house conserves both the memory of Gaudí and many examples of furniture and other objects that he designed. Crucial to forming an idea of how the great Catalan architect worked, these works also illustrate the craft production system in Catalonia during the Art Nouveau period.
The original purpose of the building – that of acting as a “show house” for Park Güell – gives the site added value. Although it is a public space today, Park Güell, one of Gaudí’s major undertakings, was originally planned as a private residential area.

A majestic hall with marble stairs leading from the bookstore on the upper level to the street level restaurant at the Seattle Museum of Art. My lunch was delicious, and it has the best acoustics of any restaurant I have been in for years.

Das Groninger Museum ist ein Kunstmuseum in der niederländischen Stadt Groningen. Das von dem Designer Alessandro Mendini in Zusammenarbeit mit den Architekten Michele De Lucchi, Philippe Starck und Coop Himmelb(l)au entworfene Gebäude liegt auf einer Insel im Verbindungskanal der Stadt. Eine Brücke verbindet die Insel mit beiden Uferseiten und dient als Verbindung zwischen Bahnhof und Innenstadt. Das Museum wird seit 1. September 2012 von dem Kunsthistoriker Andreas Blühm geleitet.
