Old mill dam on the Stones River Murfreesboro TN USA

Built in 1887 by the Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Railway.

A captain in the Revolutionary Army, he received for his services a large grant of land in this area. From this he donated the land on which Murfreesboro was built. His house was about 200 yards west. He is buried in the family cemetery about 50 yards west of this post.

Murfreesboro was Capitol of Tennessee from 1819-1825

One of my favorite spots to shoot. This place sits right next to a land field and if the wind is blowing in the "wrong" direction it is almost unbearable to get out of the car. I got lucky yesterday and was able to shoot.
